"That's okay, I'll help you fold," Vivian replied with a smile. She needed to show Eden around anyways, might as well show her a little bit of what they do at the house.

Payton returned downstairs a moment later and sat down next to Vivian, noticing that she made him and Shane plates.
"Thanks Effie," he said with a smile.

"You're welcome," she replied.

[Fallen]

Stella nodded. “Sounds good to me. And I don’t think we’ve got any other chores that we’ve gotta get done today.” She commented, glancing at the others.

Jacoby glanced at Payton, making sure he was alright. “Shane sleeping again?” He guessed quietly.

Eden stayed quiet as she picked at her food, listening to the conversations going on around her. She glanced up at the corners of the room, looking for the cameras. She didn’t know how she’d missed them earlier but it certainly made her a bit more paranoid.

"Cool," Vivian replied with a smile, looking over at Eden. She didn't wanna make her feel left out, but she still was kinda nervous to talk to her. Since she had been so unhappy earlier."How old are you Eden?"

"Yeah he doesn't feel the greatest right now so he said a nap would hopefully help him," Payton replied with a nod, beginning to eat some of his dinner.

Eden glanced over at her question. “17. What about you all?” She asked quietly. She picked at her food a bit more and watched them all while waiting for their answers. They all seemed to be near her age at least.


Jacoby nodded. “Alright. I’ll go check on him in a bit too.” He agreed with a shrug. “The naps seem to help him feel better typically.” He glanced over at Payton, smiling a bit.

Vivian seemed to light up a bit when she included everyone else in her question, taking that as a good sign.
"I'm 15," she responded.

"I appreciate that Jacoby, thanks," Payton said, hearing the question come from Eden. Looking at her he offered a bright smile."I'm 17. Also it's nice to met you Eden."

Albany looked up when the question was posed, sighing heavily and rolling her eyes somewhat dramatically.
"16," she ended up responding after a second though, taking a sip of her water.

[Fallen]

“16.” Stella answered faintly.

Jacoby nodded. “I’m 16 as well. Shane upstairs is 17. You’ll meet him later.” He told her with a gentle smile. They were all trying to at least be somewhat friendly with eachother, except Albany and Everett.

Eden nodded. “Same to you.” She said to Payton before glancing at the others as they spoke their ages. She glanced over to Everett and raised an eyebrow, wondering if he’d answer or not.

Everett, of course, was not participating in this. Just kept his eyes down on the table as he ate, only glancing up when he realized most everyone was looking at him and he shifted uncomfortable in his seat.

"That one is 17," Albany said for him since she was close to him, sending a little look over at him, which he ignored.

Vivian ignored the both of them and just looked back to Eden.
"Most everyone that comes around here is either 16 or 17. The youngest we ever had was Bobby, he was 14," she explained.

Eden glanced away from him after a moment when it was clear that he wasn’t going to answer. She nodded when Albany answered for him and then they explained that they all were around the same age range. “Good to know. I guess it makes sense to keep age groups together.” She mumbled softly.

"Yeah it would be a little harder to keep things well in order if the age difference was too big," Vivian replied with a nod, taking a couple of bites of her food before speaking up again,"We do actually have classes here too. Well, more like they give us textbooks and have a tutor come in and spend a little bit of time with each of us a day on a lesson. So we're all in the same room, just some of us are clumped together if we're in the same level."

Eden nodded slightly, listening to her explanation. She didn’t particularly want to be in classes if she was just supposed to be there for a week before transitioning back to being at home. But as with everything else about her situation, she couldn’t really fight them on it and everyone in the room seemed to be in similar situations though they’d been kept there for a while.

"I know it's kinda a bummer needing to be doing classes while you're here. But hopefully you won't be here too long for it to matter much," Vivian said, trying to keep her hopes up. Of course she didn't know what she was in for so she couldn't really give her an estimate of when she would get out.

“And just how long have you all been here?” Eden asked in a quiet mumble. She was starting to doubt that she’d get out any time soon based on how they all seemed to know each other pretty well and had a sort of set schedule and chores and everything.

"Um I've been here 8 months," Vivian replied, clearing her throat. She didn't wanna scare her into thinking she would never get out, she was a bit of a special case, being in an orphanage before this anyways.

"Same, I got here when Effie did," Payton replied.

"2 months," Albany replied to the question with a small sigh, motioning over to Everett since she knew he wouldn't reply,"He's been here, what, 10 months?"

Stella didn’t answer, having been there for nearly a year already and she didn’t think she’d be out any time soon.

“6 months for me.” Jacoby answered with a shrug.

Eden sighed. “Great.” She muttered. She finished her food and stood up, tucking in her chair before taking her plate to the kitchen to clean up. She was used to everyone taking care of their own dishes rather than it being an assigned chore or anything.

Vivian had a feeling that would get Eden a little bit upset and she followed her, not done with her food yet, but that didn't matter much to her.
"Just because we've been here a while doesn't mean you will," she said to her, seeing as she was going to clean up her dish,"Oh you can just leave that in the sink. I think it's Albany's turn to wash all the dishes tonight."

"Yeah lucky me!" Albany said from the other room since she was able to hear them.

“yeah right. I don’t know what Or why you all are here but I doubt I’m getting out any time soon based on how long you’ve been here.” Eden muttered. She washed her own plate, not caring that it technically wasn’t her job to. It gave her something to do for a moment so she wouldn’t get upset.

Jacoby sighed. “I mean. I don’t think we’re that bad..” he commented lightly With a smile. He got up to go try and help Vivian.

"It's possible. Bobby got out within a month when he was here. The average time is about 2 so," Vivian said though she stopped, not thinking that anything she was going to say would make Eden feel any better. She bit her lip and cast her eyes down to the floor instead.

"She's just upset I think," Payton responded, staying in his seat and finishing his food. He would only get up if he started hearing yelling.

“Yeah right. I was told a week but I’m guessing it’s full on bullshit.” Eden mumbled. She washed her plate and set it aside to dry off.

Jacoby came into the kitchen and glanced at them. He didn’t say anything, just there if they needed help.

Vivian bit her lip when she spoke, seeing Jacoby come into the room as well. She still didn't think talking to Eden about it and trying to calm her down was a good idea though so she just nodded her head.
"I get it. Why don't I, um, show you around a little bit?" she offered her instead, hoping she would agree.

Eden sighed. “Can I just explore a bit on my own?@ she muttered quietly. She didn’t want to be around her or anyone if she could avoid it. She pushed her hair out of her face and glanced at Vivian.

"I'll....get into trouble if I let you go around by yourself," Vivian replied to her, looking like she did feel bad about it. Cause she did. But it was the rules that the doctors put into place. new patients were allowed to wander by themselves the first day they come here. They were all about getting them to interact with everyone else as quickly as possible.

“okay. But you’re my roommate. I have to spend a ton of time with you anyways. Can’t someone else show me around?” Eden questioned, sighing softly. She wanted a break from Vivian. It wasn’t anything wrong that she’d done but Eden was just moody and didn’t want to have to get super close to any of them.

Vivian was surprised at the words that came from Eden and she, of course, took it personally. Shifting her weight a little bit, she cleared her throat.
"U-um...if you want," she replied, motioning to Jacoby,"Would you wanna show her around? O-or I can ask Payton."

“I don’t care. Just someone else please. It’s nothing against you. I just don’t want to spend a ton of time with you right now, especially if I’m supposed to get to know everyone as you said.” Eden explained quietly, trying not to hurt her feelings.

Jacoby nodded and kept quiet. He’d show her around if Eden wanted.

It was a little bit too late for that one, Vivian had taken it personally already and she kept her eyes cast down to the floor. She moved out of the kitchen and went to go get Payton instead, telling him that he needed to show Eden around. He was heard from the other room asking if she was alright and she said something very softly before she retreated up to her room.

A moment later Payton came into the kitchen, looking in between Jacoby and Eden.
"Sooo...I guess I'm showing you around," he said to the new girl, confused as hell on what happened.

Eden leaned back against the counter and glanced at Jacoby once Vivian had left. “Are you all so emotionally touchy?” She asked him.

Jacoby shrugged back at her. “Sorta. But you get used to it. especially once you start tolerating us and stop pushing buttons.” He answered. He nodded to Payton before going to grab Shane’s plate and take it up to him.

Eden sighed and nodded. She glanced to Payton. “Alright. I’m sorry about upsetting her. I just am trying to make it so she doesn’t have to deal with me all the tine.” She explained quietly.

Payton looked between the both of them, smiling slightly at her words.
"Well you have to remember, all of us are in here for a reason. One of Vivian's diagnosis is emotional trouble, she's easily distressed by others emotions so taking stuff personally, she can't really help it," he said to her with a shrug of his shoulders,"But I'm pretty sure that she told Stella she would help with the laundry. She went back to her room though so I guess it's gonna be you and I. Let's go."

Everett looked up at Jacoby when he moved to bring Shane's plate up to him, leaving the table as well and putting himself in the t.v room, going to wait for him there.

“Then putting me with her is a dumb idea. She’s just gonna get hurt.” Eden mumbled. She nodded slightly to Payton’s explanation though and followed after him to be shown around the house. She tried not to be moody but it had been a long week and the voices in her head were almost non stop.

Payton didn't say anything to her first words, moving into the dining room and seeing that Stella hadn't yet gone down to finish the laundry.
"You have me at your disposal m'lady," he said to her, chuckling a bit.

"Oh God, get the hell away from me you weirdo," Albany said with a shake of her head, gathering up the dishes and moving to the kitchen to start on cleaning them.

Stella rolled her eyes. “Alright. Come on. Let’s go get the laundry done and then you can continue your tour.” She got up and went with them to the laundry room.

Eden followed after them, looking around quietly.

Jacoby came back downstairs and helped bring all the plates to the kitchen. They each had their assigned chores but he never minded helping them all out.

"Cool cool," Payton replied to her, following along with her down the steps to the basement,"So there's a chore sheet right in front of the doctors offices. Every week we take turns doing certain things on certain days. The it Thursday now and the rest of the week you won't be given anything specific, but you'll probably just be helping out everyone else with their chores."

Albany began to fill up the sink with water when Jacoby came into the room with her, smiling over at her.
"Oh thanks," she said.

[Fallen]

Stella went down into the basement and to the laundry room, flicking on the lights. She grabbed the clothes out of the dryer and set them on the table so they could fold them and organize them.

Eden nodded slightly. “Alright. do we sign up or do they just assign them to us all?” She asked faintly.

Jacoby smiled gently and nodded. “Yeah. Of course.” He cleaned up the leftovers and got them put away while she worked on dishes.

"They assign it to us at the beginning of the week. That way one person doesn't always get stuck with the dishes or always with the laundry. So they can mix it up," Payton replied, moving over to the table to help Stella fold.

Eden nodded. “Okay.” she agreed in a quiet mumble. She followed them over and started folding up the laundry, taking her time and setting each item aside when she was done. She couldn’t sort it as she didn’t know what belonged to who.

Payton helped her with that part, telling her whose item belonged to everyone.
"Our initials are actually written down on the inside, see?" he told her, showing her,"Of course it might take you a little bit to know whose who but you'll get there." Once it was folded there were different baskets laid out on the floor that belonged to everyone, their names written down on that as well to make doing the laundry easy.

Eden nodded slightly. “Alright.” She stacked stuff based on initials and then put them in the right baskets once they’d finished all the laundry. She glanced back to Payton once they’d finished, unsure where they were going next.

Payton made small talk with Stella as the worked on folding the laundry, it not taking too long to do so. Like Stella had told Vivian earlier, it was pretty much already done.
"Alright, wasn't too hard," he said, looking over at Stella and smiling at her,"Do you want help bringing it all upstairs?"

Stella smiled gently at him before shaking her head. “It’s alright. I can get it. You should show Eden around the rest of the house.” She assured before grabbing a couple of the baskets and heading upstairs.

Eden watched them quietly, listening to their small talk but not participating. She shifted anxiously on her feet.

"Okay cool," Payton said, looking over at Eden next,"Alright lets go give you the tour." He headed up the stairs after Stella made it up, seeing Albany and Jacoby working together on the dishes in the kitchen."Having fun there Albany?"

"Bite me," the girl shot back, putting one of the plates on the rack to dry off.

Stella took the laundry to everyone’s rooms.

Eden followed Payton upstairs quietly. “Maybe not a question you can answer, but what is everyone else’s reasons for being here?” She asked faintly.

Jacoby took care of all the leftovers before cleaning up some of the dishes, helping Albany so it would get done quicker.

Payton chuckled at Albany's response, moving into the dining room and looked at Eden when she asked that.
"Well I only know why a few of us are here, you know? I haven't gotten a chance to ask everyone. I can tell you that Vivian is here because she, apparently, accidentally hurt some children at the orphanage that she lived at. She says that she didn't touch them and I believe her, but they don't," he replied with a shrug,"And Everett is here for kinda the same thing, random lashes out of rage. Now that, that one I can believe, dudes got some anger issues for sure."

"Thanks again for the help Jacoby," Albany said to him once the dishes were all done and everything was put away. She dried off her hands and smiled over at him.

Eden nodded slightly. She followed him, waiting till it seemed like they were alone and the others wouldn’t overhear before speaking. “They say I’m schizophrenic.” She mumbled quietly, figuring since he was telling her, she had to give some info back as well.

Jacoby smiled a bit and nodded. “You’re welcome.” He replied kindly, drying his hands off.

Payton looked at her when she said that, giving a slight raise of his eyebrows but he didn't seem too taken back.
"And do you believe them?" he asked her then, leaning against the wall,"Do you hear voices and see things that aren't there?"

Albany blushed softly at the smile that she got, clearing her throat.
"I'll see you," she said, heading out of the kitchen and moving upstairs to the little library they had up there instead.

Eden shrugged. “I hear things. And I see things. But they’re really there. It’s not like how they describe where it’s all in my head. Like when I see things, I can actually feel their presence, not just see it.” She explained faintly, hoping that didn’t make her sound more crazy.


Jacoby smiled and nodded. He watched her head off before heading up to his room.

"What do these things say, do you know?" Payton asked. From his understand of those who were schizophrenic, they said things that made them feel back about themselves. Put them down and told them that people were coming to hurt them. But is that what Eden's voices were telling her?

“They say all sorts of stuff honestly.” Eden shrugged. Some of the voices were the typical threats and fears that came with schizophrenia but a lot of them seemed more reasonable, like it was just these other people hanging around her, not in her head. “It’s kinda hard to explain.”

"It's okay, I get it," Payton replied, shrugging slightly,"I'm not in your head so I don't know what you're going through. But if you are schizo like the doctors say, you're certainly not the worst that you can be. You can actually hold conversions with people, even if you're a bit moody."

Eden shrugged at him. “I don’t know. It was lots worse in the hospital. But it seems like if you just keep quiet about it, the doctors will believe most whatever you tell them.” She muttered faintly. She glanced around them.

"Unless of course you tell them that you didn't do what they think you did or you're feeling better. Then they don't give a shit," Payton said with a smile, motioning with his head,"Come on, let me actually show you around before they come down and yell at us for standing around."

“Well yeah..” Eden shrugged. She nodded and followed him through the rest of the house as he showed her around. “So I’m guessing there’s curfew rules and stuff like that?” She asked him quietly, trying to learn what she could even though she didn’t plan on staying long.
