No. I believed the story that he got up and took off (possibly killing the other prostitute at the bar). I actually thought he was the person killing all of those women. My second thought was the other doctor at the hospital who helped her diagnose Cole's illness.
I thought she killed him and her fear of being caught was a real one.
I waffled between those two options myself.

Yes, I believe she had killed him. She was a nurse and knew that she had punctured an artery. As such, I never suspected him of being the killer.
