I thought she should have just asked him instead of trying to steal it. Of course, when he heard her story about working at the Bare Kitten, some men wouldn't have listened to her at all. She's lucky he was a good one.

They had formed a good friendship over the weeks he was under her care. I thought she should have asked for help instead of trying to steal from him.

He adored her, had offered her money in the past. I’m certain he would have quickly come to her rescue, as he ultimately did. Her decision to steal from him showed the depths to which she’d sunk in her own mind about herself. Yes, she should have asked.
