Fowler fired Imogen for gross insubordination, despite having been instrumental in diagnosing Cole’s true problem. Was he right to do so because she went behind his back or did he do so because she possibly made him look bad?

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments He did it because he didn't want it known a lowly nurse diagnosed Cole's condition when he couldn't. He was jealous. Yes, she did go behind his back because he refused to listen. Unfortunately, some doctors are like that.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments He did it because she made him look bad. I'm glad she was able to find another doctor to listen to her and take another look at Cole's situation.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments Yes, agreed.

It was all ego. She made him look terrible and he took advantage of the moment to get rid of her easily. Glad she had the last laugh.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments He definitely was an egomaniac. A nurse making a correct diagnosis! He couldn't risk it getting out. Instead of being thrilled that the patient survived, he took it out on her.

I'm so glad it ended the way it did. Lol

Even today, that doctor/nurse ego thing still exists today.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments So true...

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments Fowler's ego could not get past the fact that a 'mere' woman had shown him up. In his eyes, she shamed and humiliated him.

He should have felt humiliated. Nothing he was doing worked and he could have at least considered the option.
