ABANDONED. Hero fakes an assassination of the president by using ada radars in the city to force marine one and the escort helicoptors to fly a specific path and separate them.

I can't recall a lot beyond this particular scene. The government knows the hero is after the president i think and they've been practicing to evade him by having 4 big helicopters fly in formation with marine one. he forces them to fly out of the white house and then uses ADA radars hidden inside mailboxes to force them along a specific route where he finally fakes a missile launch which causes the escorts to leave Marine one.

It would have been a political thriller. In the vein of Vince Flynn or Brad Thor. I believed I read it within the last 5 years. The hero was on the run from the government I think. Was a former secret agent type.
