Read-A-Thon #1: Team Cocoa Pebbles
Jillian, I was going to just move all of the books over to whichever topic we choose next once we finish with Dinosaurs. I'll go through and delete completed books now, though!

We had a beautiful, sunny but chilly day. Not really gardening weather here, but I did get tomatoes seeds planted so they can start growing indoors.

With a total of 10 possible Wild Cards, I'd say we limit ourselves to doing 2 per round? (Assuming we can get to the total amount of Wild Cards and also the surprise fifth round of the challenge).
Maybe whatever prompt comes in as complete next, we can use the Wild Cards for the last two of Dinosaur?
I say we go for Big Cat next.. we already have books to cover each of the prompts.

I have a few obligations today but I still think I'll be able to finish my current book. I'll of course update the spreadsheet depending on where we are when I check in again.

Also, hi, happy to be aboard Team Cocoa Pebbles!

Do we want to use our Wild Cards on the two remaining prompts, or are there enough people close to finishing Jurassic Park and ancient predators that we can hold off and save our Wild Cards for later?

I think, we should hold off on using the wildcards unless someone is about to finish a book that does not work for dinosaurs but does work for big cats.

Ok sounds good! I'll check back in later this evening and see where we stand. For now, if you aren't close to finishing a book for Jurassic Park or ancient predators, you can start working on Big Cat words!

Go with "ancient predators"! There seem to be a few close ones to finish Jurassic Park.
Wasn't Sadie great??
Wasn't Sadie great??

I thought so... but wanted to check.

Wasn't Sadie great??"
Ok, I just updated the spreadsheet! Finished! Sadie was amazing!!! I'm so glad I did the Audio version it was amazing too!!

Hooray! We are up to Big Cat, and we still have 4 wild cards to use as needed!
Don't forget to put in your page counts and audio counts so we can keep track of how many Wild Cards we have to use.
EDIT: We actually just earned our 3rd Audio Wild Card! So we have 5 at our disposal.

Edie I started toms too! Do you have a greenhouse or sunny windowsill?

I'll be moving on to The Gunslinger: The Dark Tower 1 tomorrow.

Tomorrow I’ll mostly be reading Penny For Your Secrets or All the Birds in the Sky; I’m nearly halfway through Penny already, so there’s a chance I might finish that by bedtime. Good night!
Good morning, team!
I love waking up and see so many prompts already checked off! It feels strange that I haven't finished a book for the Read-A-Thon yet, but I'm trying to take my time with Homegoing, and it's hard to read more than a chapter at a time. I'm breaking that up with All the Ways We Said Goodbye, which is an awesome historical fiction novel that has me captivated, but it's also 400+ pages. Hopefully I'll finish both of them by Tuesday so I can meet my goal of 4 books read this week.
Happy Monday and happy reading!

Happy Monday and happy reading!

I just updated the spreadsheet with my finish of The Naughty Girls Book Club. I put it in for Whisker, but it does meet a couple of other categories, so feel free to move it if necessary. I also deleted it from the other tabs.
Also, my pages put us over the 3000 pages so now we have another wild card too! Yay!
Starting a new book and audio book today, so it might be awhile before I have more books finished.

I also realized that I am only a little half way through my audiobook of little women so probably won't be finishing that for a few more days.

I was just curious what happened to the books that have been completed for Big Cat.? Just in case, we need to move stuff around. I'm not seeing all the possible options for those books.
I moved them to the end of the spreadsheet, rather than putting them at the beginning because it was distracting me lol. I can move them back if it's easier.
I finished Homegoing and put it down for roar, which is the only prompt it fit. Only got 111 pages read today, but it was a busy day and Homegoing was a tough read... I could only read a chapter at time before taking a break. Glad I read it though!

I read Homegoing last year and while it is a great book. I agree that it is one to read a little bit at a time.

Hopefully I get more reading done today than yesterday!

Good morning team!
We still have 4 prompts left for Big Cats, but hopefully we can get at least two knocked out today. I'm thinking that once we get down to two left, we should use Wild Cards and move on to the next set of words (maybe insects?). We have a total of 10 wild cards (I have no doubt we will hit the pages required to get all 10), so we can use two or three on each of the remaining levels without difficulty.
Also, now that we have reached the audio wild cards, we can start converting audio into pages read to meet the pages wild cards.

I *should* finish my book today, and it works for "whisker". I still have about 120 pages to go, but I think I can manage that in the next few hours.

Yay and yay and yay!
I've just finished All the Ways We Said Goodbye, which counts for "whiskers" (author name), so we only have one left for Big Cat.
Do we want to throw a wild card on it? Move on to Insects next?

I vote yes :)

Is there a formula to convert Audiohours to page numbers. I can't find a hard copy or digital version to get my hands on to figure it out?
Let me know!

Depends on the book and narration speed. You’ll need to find the pages/hours ratio by checking the goodreads record for the number of pages in the book.
