I didn't finish my book for dog breed as I feared, about 1 hour listening left, so I'll find somewhere to put it under something else.

message 103: by Marina (new)

Marina | 1312 comments Hi team
Great work yesterday and we've already checked off three words on next level.

message 104: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3314 comments Doing great, Team! I'm 50 pages from the end of The Woman in the Window, which I'm going to save for the Insect level. It's so suspenseful, how am I going to wait!?!? Lol.

I'll look for something short to read to add to Dinosaur level.

I will definitely finish my Dinosaur book today. It is short and amusing. Margaret Atwood tells the story of Penelope from the Odyssey from her point of view in The Penelopiad. The idea is that she is in the afterlife and she knows about life after her death, so, in addition to telling her story, she comments on modern events, like how homes today have a lighted-up shrine where they get their information.

Sara (phantomswife) Finished Eve Green by Susan Fletcher . Used it for "roaming the land"

Toward the very end of The Viscount Who Loved Me, I found the word "stomp", so I marked that one off the list. Hope that is ok with everyone. I thought that at this point the book wasn't going to count for anything!

message 108: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) That's terrific, Robin.

message 109: by Marina (new)

Marina | 1312 comments I started a book by Jussi Adler-Olsen today because I need to read for a buddyread. It only fits jurassic park for author initials so I hope to finish tomorrow so it can count towards something. I doubt I'll find any of the words in the book.

message 110: by Marina (new)

Marina | 1312 comments That's super, Robin!

message 111: by Robin P, Orbicular Mod (new)

Robin P | 3970 comments Mod
We have half the categories done. I don't think I have anything else for this one but several possibilities for the next level. Great job, everyone!

message 112: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 349 comments I can probably get my dinosaur book read by tomorrow but not early in the day. It’s the only one for t-Rex right now. We could use a wild card on that one. Whatever works.

message 113: by Kathy (last edited Feb 26, 2020 07:47PM) (new)

Kathy E | 3314 comments I finished my audiobook, What the Wind Knows and converted the hours to pages. So we went over 5000 pages and have another wild card. It didn't fit any categories in this level.

Looking good!

message 114: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3314 comments Finished a graphic novel, Dinosaur Empire! (Earth Before Us #1): Journey through the Mesozoic Era and added it for "triceratops." Could do others we don't have if we need to switch it.

message 115: by Marina (new)

Marina | 1312 comments I finished Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk and added it for ancestors to birds.

We only need two more words to complete this level. Should we use a wildcard or two?

message 116: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3314 comments I think so. Anyone else? One or two is fine with me

message 117: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Morrison | 478 comments I’m good with using the wild cards.

message 118: by Robin P, Orbicular Mod (new)

Robin P | 3970 comments Mod
Yes, we have plenty of wild cards. That way we can start on the next level.

message 119: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3314 comments Okay, I'll add them to the spreadsheet. Then I can finish The Woman in the Window.

message 120: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3314 comments Starting Insect Level.

message 121: by Patricia (new)

Patricia (tricia_nelson) Finished Meet Cute but it doesn't fit any categories. Added the pages to the grid though. :)

message 122: by Robin P, Orbicular Mod (new)

Robin P | 3970 comments Mod
I finished The Ponder Heart whose author works for Spider Web. Starting another one for another category but I don't think I'll finish today.

message 123: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Brown | 371 comments Great job everyone! I am still here reading. I wish I had a smaller book, but it is for a book club. If someone can add 82 pages to my total, that would be great. Thank you!!

message 124: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) lol. I always seem to check in right after you post a total, Kelly. I am really NOT stalking you. Entered it.

message 125: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Brown | 371 comments lol Sara! I thank you. I just see it as dependable.

message 126: by Dana (new)

Dana | 141 comments Great job, all! I’ve been down with a migraine but hope to get back tomorrow!

message 127: by Robin P, Orbicular Mod (new)

Robin P | 3970 comments Mod
Sorry to hear that, Dana! There is still plenty of time for us to complete everything.

message 128: by Marina (new)

Marina | 1312 comments Good morning team,
Great start on next level. I hope to finish my book this afternoon and hopefully start a new one.
I'm excited to see if we'll be able to get to the fifth level, mostly because I'm curious to find out what it is 😊

Feel better soon, Dana!

Marina | 1312 comments Sara wrote: "lol. I always seem to check in right after you post a total, Kelly. I am really NOT stalking you. Entered it."

This made me laugh 😁😁

message 130: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Dana--migraines are the worst. Hope yours departs and lets you enjoy the day.

message 131: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Morrison | 478 comments I finished The Nickel Boys. I marked it down for creepy crawling for author name, it was the only place it fits.

message 132: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 349 comments I will finish my book for many species today. Since we have no books going for grasshoppers or thorax, we could use wild cards for those.

message 133: by Robin P, Orbicular Mod (new)

Robin P | 3970 comments Mod
Yes, I guess there's no bonus for having leftover wild cards. I am finishing a book but it's for a category we already got. I haven't found anything short for grasshoppers or thorax. Curious to see the "secret level".

message 134: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) I agree--might as well get some use out of those wildcards.

message 135: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3314 comments I'll add the wild cards to thorax. I have a graphic novel which would take care of grasshoppers. Herding Cats by Sarah Andersen

message 136: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Morrison | 478 comments Kathy wrote: "I'll add the wild cards to thorax. I have a graphic novel which would take care of grasshoppers. Herding Cats by Sarah Andersen"

I started The Outsiders a little bit ago and am over halfway done already. Can probably have it done in about an hour if you want to hold off on your graphic novel. If not I’ll just add my pages to the page count.

message 137: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3314 comments Go ahead with The Outsiders, Brittany. I'll wait with my graphic novel.

message 138: by Marina (new)

Marina | 1312 comments I'm fine with using the wildcards whenever you guys think.
I finished my book for ants earlier. I started another book yesterday but didn't get far so I'm not going to be able to help with any of the last words today.

message 139: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Morrison | 478 comments I finished The Outsiders and am marking off grasshoppers.

message 140: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 349 comments Should we go ahead and use a wild card on springtime so that we can move on to the last level?

message 141: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3314 comments I think we should use a wild card on springtime. Then we can see what's next!!!

message 142: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Brown | 371 comments I would love to see what is next too!

message 143: by Emily, Conterminous Mod (new)

Emily Bourque (emilyardoin) | 11185 comments Mod
If you're using a Wild Card for springtime, you have completed the first four levels and can move on to the Mythical Animals level! There are 15 prompts on this level, but you still have four Wild Cards (five, when you earn that last one)!

Congrats team!

Jackie | 2451 comments Mod
I applied a wildcard to springtime. Last section here we go!

message 145: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Entered my reading for the day and we have that last wildcard.

message 146: by Robin P, Orbicular Mod (new)

Robin P | 3970 comments Mod
Yay team!

message 147: by Dana (new)

Dana | 141 comments Way to go, ladies, and thanks for the migraine banishing thoughts. :) Hoping to get some good reading in today to make up!

message 148: by Robin P, Orbicular Mod (new)

Robin P | 3970 comments Mod
A book I had started before fit for this level and I started another one that I think I can finish today.

message 149: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3314 comments I'm trying to get my book done today too. It fits only the "fire breathing" phrase.

Great job, team!

message 150: by Marina (new)

Marina | 1312 comments I'm trying to finish my book today, so I could hopefully read one more tomorrow but I'm not too sure I have enough time.
But we've done great so far!
