Anyone can read a younger-kid book like this, especially if you need a break from long books. No offense, but I DEFINITELY don't agree with you. :)

If I remember correctly, it says how old her brother is in each one, so you might want to...:)

Emily Junie B is a snarky brat who gets into truly dangerous but realistic situations because of her misbehavior and gets rewarded! for what she does. I don't think it's appropriate at all for young kids. It's not what you want to model for them or endorse by giving them the book as if you approve of Junie and/or what she does. Kids like it, sure, but then they like candy and pop too. It's like trash tv, the lowest of the low. There are much better children's book alternatives that are also riveting and engrossing. . Not saying it's not well-written; just not what kids need at all!
