Alex | 2736 comments I was looking to find a cover for this record:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

However a google search brings up only this page:
http://www.amazon.fr/Le-l%C3%A9opard-...

Clearly, that edition is no longer sold, but is it a trustworthy enough source for the cover and title?

Amanda | 2442 comments It is basically an archived Amazon page for a Kindle edition, so I would say yes it is trustworthy enough. I probably wouldn't use that kind of page for a non-kindle edition, or at least use it with caution, but for a Kindle edition I don't see why not. the image is going to be rather on the small side, but I think even a small image is better than none.

Alex | 2736 comments Would this site be an acceptable source for book data and covers?
http://www.gbip.gr/main.asp?page=prod...

It's a database site that used to have a membership fee, but then came under the National Book Centre (ΕΚΕΒΙ), a not-for-profit organisation funded by the Greek Ministry of Culture and became freely available to the public.

I'd also like to draw attention to the second of the use options described in that link:

Other parties can employ BIBLIONET site content
(the site's English translation is a bit lacking; it would more accurately translate to "... can use the content of the BIBLIONET database")

Linda (lindalanz) | 159 comments If we can use it, it would be very useful. Lots of Greek books are missing cover images.

lethe | 16359 comments Bad news, I'm afraid: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

(But strange, if they say the information can freely be used by third parties.)

Alex | 2736 comments Oh, that's a shame, it really is an excellent resource for Greek books. Maybe they've changed their policy since then? Because it does specifically state "...can use the content of the BIBLIONET database" as a separate use case to simply accessing the database. I think I'll send an email to inquire about this.

ETA: I think I get it now, it's a bit weirdly worded, especially in English. I think they're saying that third parties have to come to some arrangement with the site for those uses of its content. Regardless, I'll ask for clarification.
