I was drawn into this story from the first chapter and thought it was well-paced with an intricate plot. But it lost me near the end when Karin entered into what I call "Super Villain" mode. Those are the villains that have an elaborate plan and know exactly where their nemesis (Megan) is at all times. My question is...how did Karin know where Megan was when she was sent to question the witnesses that Ethan almost ran off the road and killed? Megan traveled to the witnesses house with a local cop. Karin would have to find out where Megan was, go there and remove most of the gas from the gas tank, and either know exactly where the car would run out of gas or follow the car until it did. Then she had to subdue the local cop who just happened to be away from the car, then sneak up on Megan and taze her. Unless I missed something important, I thought this was too far-fetched for me to buy into. So, my overall opinion of the book is it was entertaining, but I didn't believe some of the villain's actions.
That’s a great point, Robin! How did she figure that out?
Her plan was always to lure Megan to Santa Barbara. Karin was probably waiting for Megan and followed her and Officer Dodge to San Luis Obispo. While they were interviewing the witnesses, she did her thing. I believe she was following Megan until she could isolate her.
You’re welcome!

Yes, I wondered about how Karin could be maneuvering the last guy to the cabin and still keep tabs on Megan.Great questions, as usual, Jonetta.
Great call on the "Super Villain", Robin! Karin was sure in the right place at the right time.I loved the book. Great suspense and good romance (for Allison Brennan, anyway).
