Did you have a clue that Karin had a connection to Megan? We were only provided one major clue, the mailing of the dog tags to her private address. Did that bug you at the time? Should Hans have made that a bigger factor?

Robin (robinmy) | 2485 comments I had no idea why Karin had come up with this big plan and how Megan was tied to it. I kind of forgot about the dog tags going to Megan's home address even though it was mentioned at the time. Hans probably should have figured that the whole thing had something to do with Megan at that point. But, he was under pressure to find the killers like everyone else. No one is going to be able to juggle all of those investigations at once and not drop something.

I agree that there was a lot going on but those dog tags being mailed to Megan’s home was highly irregular. Even Jack knew immediately that meant she was a key element. Hans dropped the ball in a major way.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1221 comments I knew she was key in some way, but I thought Ethan had mailed the dog tag to her, that it was his idea. Took me a while to catch on, but we readers were faster than Hans, and that seems out of character for him and all the other feds, etc.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 3009 comments I had no clue as to what Karin's connection to Megan was. You would have thought Karin would have been grateful that she only lost her job and wasn't prosecuted for attempted murder.

Hans and Megan both should have been instantly aware that the dog tag coming to Megan's home address was major. Jack was to only one who picked up on how bad that was.

Melissa (melissasd) | 676 comments I didn't think twice about the dog tags being sent to her house. In my mind it was just the killers playing mind games with the FBI. I can't be too hard on Hans for not catching it. Karin had been gone for 12 years. She probably was no long on their radar.

I didn’t expect Hans to know it was Karin, just that it was personal to Megan. He would have factored that into his analysis and would have eventually determined that Karin was off the grid.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 3009 comments When Karin was fired from the FBI, she went and didn't try to take revenge on Megan at that time. 12 years is a long time and I'm not surprised that she didn't come to mind when they started to think about people who had it in for Megan.

Actually, that evolved quickly once Jack became aware of the dog tag mailing. It was within hours.
