Through the ride, kate is joined by a few other kids and after a five hour drive, they arive at a huge testing facility
((For a bit I can play staff and yiu could play kates parents?
((Like for a little bit I can play some of the staff at the lab that haylee is at. And you could play people that kate is around. And haylee just got to the labratory
((In a way, everyone goes but they go at a random time))"I just cant believe I'm not going to see her any more" kate says as she wipes away a tear
An voice comes over a PA system "please follow the line through processing. There you will receive any and all equipment needed for testing" near the door is a line of kids ranging from 15 to 18 years old. At the door is an attendant taking names and ages
The boy is looking around curiously, wondering what would happen after the 6 month suspension time before testing starts"Name and age?" The attendant says as the boy reaches the door.
"James Rodges. 18." The boy says somewhat nervously.

"It could be years before I see her again" kate says softly "and there has been deaths there before"
Kate blushes and punches kennedy's arm lightly "shut up ken. Hes too old of me any way"-----
"I think its all our first time." Jame says with a half smile as they continue through the line to get a jump suit and special leg braces for long falls. They are then directed to a waiting area where they will be assigned their suspension units
((Suspension is pretty much they "sleep" for 6 months before testing. Its part of the video game im basing all this off of))
"Yeah I think we all feel the same." He says as he pulls a tissue from his pocket "here...I had them from the drive here." He says as he hands it to her----
Sam laughs and hits her with a pillow "except they dont usually let test subjects interact that much"
Sam laughs and hits kennedy with a pillow again------
"What makes you say that?" James says with a frown
James thinks for a moment then he leans forward, placjng his hand on her cheek and he kisses her gently "there...I don't think you'll die...but if you do, you won't have missed out on that"-----
Kate smiles "you see its people like you who create love-hate relationships"
"I guess you could say Im shocking" he says teasingly-----
Kate laughs "yeah and you're like the annoying little sister"
Kate frowns "relax kennedy it was a joke."----
James smiles and kisses her back.
"Its ok. We all feel that way" kate says------
"Dont worry about it." He says gently as they reach the waiting area to be assigned suspension pods
((Idk why but the song "the hanging tree" is stuck in my head and it gives me an idea of a revolution))
"Yeah same. Its messed up." James saysA little robot on a rail slides over to them "hello there. Im Atlas. Ill be showing you to your pods." The bot says in a surprisingly humanoid voice

"Save some for me!" Kate says
"Right then...if you could just follow me." Atlas says and he scoots forward on his railJames laughs "a robot with a human voice. Who knew"

Kate takes some of the food
Kate hugs her-------
James gives her a smile of encouragement. "I dont think anyone has died during suspension yet"
"The computer is automatically programmed to wake you up periodically for exercise and sustenance. But other than that your pretty much in suspended animation." Atlas says as the walk along a corridor of what seems like a hotel-----------
"Robots can only get so smart. But in the end we have something they will never have." Kate says
"Um....not typically, no. Sometimes though, we do assign test partners." Atlas says as he stops in front of one of the doors "for the lovely lady"---------
Kate laughs "jeez im going all motivational speaker here"
"Because its our world." Kate says with a sigh. Shed miss cuddling with her best friend while watching movies and throwing popcorn at each other----------
"I'm sorry but I can't allow that. And its a relaxation vent. As long as the system is working properly, you should fall right asleep when you crawl into the bed." Atlas explains as the door comes open automatically
"I'm sorry but its strict protocol." Atlas says"He's right. We don't need to be getting into trouble here. Just think of the fact that im right jext door" James says sadly as hug squeezes her gently

Kate smiles
"Im not sure. I try not to think about that" kate says with a shrug--------------
"Its just the rules. I can't let two subjects be in the same pod. I'm sorry" atlas says "you can make yourself at home. Whenever you're ready just climb into bed and you should fall right asleep. The computer will automatically wake you up once a week for exercise and to eat"
"It's really not a lot. Just a walk around the floor your on, a walk down to the dining area to eat, then back to your pod. Well I need to get going so I can bring in everyone else. Sweet dreams." Atlas says as he goes backwards on the rain. A light comes on in the room just before he leaves--------
Kate sighs and sits on the couch, suddenly feeling more alone than ever
"Just haylee." Kate says sarcastically. "I know Ive still got ken but..its not like haylee and I...haylee spends the night almost every night."-------
James sighs, sitting in a chair in his room. Would he ever get to see haylee again?
James goes and knocks on the wall, hoping to get a response from haylee------
Kate starts crying
Kate hugs herself close to her mom--------
James knocks back, smiling to herself
"Im going to go to bed." Kate says softly, hugging her mom-------
"Can you hear me?" He asks, wondering if she could hear him
Kate heads off to bed---------
"How are you holding up? " james asks
Sam goes to bed but she cant ------
"You wont die. Youre strong" james says
James sighs "try to keep it together. For me...and your best friend"--------
Kate goes over to the window and opens it up. "You know theres a thing called a door?"
James smiles slightly "I like you too haylee. Why don't we go to sleep? We can see each other when we wake up" James says-------
"Talk about what? Are you finally going to take me on a date?" She teases. She knows he likes her but shes too shy to make a move
((So I have an idea that maybe dennis and Kate have sex and kate gets pregnant but she ends up loosing it? We could make it so she leaves in a couple weeks and she looses it in testing))
"So where should we go?" Kate asks as she pulls on some pants. She had already been in bed for about an hour so she's just wearing a shirt and underwear---------
"Dont worry. You will. And if you dont, I'll make sure someone gets their ass kicked" james sareassuringly
"Ok? Can I ditch the pants? Im comfy" she asks, having no modesty and not really caring
((Ok i have to ask....was that a reference to the movie "juno"?))Kate laughs "well we will have to be quiet. My mom is down stairs" she says, blushing
((Ohh! Im good!!!))She kisses him back as they make their way to her bed
((Lol sure. Skip to when they wake up?))
Kate wakes up with a content sigh. Her head is on dannis' chest and her blanket is covering her bare chest.
She smiles softly "I love you too. Can we just lay here forever?"
"You know...as much as I hate to leave...I'm kind of hungry." Kate says with a small smile-------
After a week had passed, the system keeping her asleep is turned of, forcing her and many other subjects to wake up
James wakes up with a yawn as he takes in his surroundings. He felt hungry and a bit weak. He goes over to return the knock----------
Kate grows more and more nervous.
One night, just a few days before they are to ship out, kate is sitting on the couch with dennis when she starts feeling nauseous
"So do I. I think its because we haven't eaten" James says as his door opens----
"I probably just ate something bad." Kate says weakly
"I haven't had it this month" kate says with a sigh----------
James smiles at her "hey"
"I missed you too" jame says as he hugs her-----
Kate hugs him as she starts crying
Kate hugs him tightly "I was the one who agreed to do it..." she says softly-------------
James hugs her as they start to walk
Jame smiles and holds her close "I love you too"--------
"I don't know....luck?" Kate says with a sad shrug
((Sure....maybe she goes into labor during testing? ))
James squeezes it gently to reasure her "This is the easy part." He says, trying to lighten her spirits--------
Kate snuggles close to him
James hugs her tightly "I'm sure youll see her again. Why don't you tell me about her?"------
Kate sighs
((sure))
Kate is holding his hand as well. The thought of getting out of testing by being pregnant had crossed her mind but she refuses to leave Haylee like that------------
James holds her tight "You know we have to return to our rooms soon"
"It'll get easier once you start your testing. Its really not that bad" the man assures her
