➳Halina➳ Laura here's a related topic: http://data3.whicdn.com/images/290410...

message 3: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ DANG IT YOU'RE OFFLINE LAURA. NICE JOB.

message 4: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ Okay so why an owl Duolingo? Why do people think the owls are super wise they can just rotate their heads and hear things from far away...

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 167 comments Well, I know that it's Athena's main symbol/animal, and she's the goddess of wisdom. I don't know, maybe it has something for that.

message 6: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ Yeah, but is the owl a sign of wisdom because it was Athena's symbol or was Athena's main symbol an owl because it represents wisdom?

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 167 comments Um, both.

message 8: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ No, I'm asking which came first. I was basically asking if because it was Athena's symbol it became a sign of wisdom, or if the owl was ALREADY a symbol of wisdom before, and then since it was a sign of wisdom it was made her symbol.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 167 comments No, I know, I think they were at the same time. Athena thought that is was wise, so she made it her symbol. I'm not completely sure though, you could probably just look it up :)

message 10: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ Yeah. I just signed up for Epic Reads. You guys should, too.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 167 comments What is it?

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

It's a website with a bunch of news on books and such.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

I think its an owl because people are stereotypical and they think Owls are super smart. IDK if they actually are.

message 14: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ And more! That "unlock the selection" thing with The Queen sneak peek and exclusive epilogue was from there. And it's only for teen books. And they have tons of stuff.

It is probably in the lingot store, and because you guys have bonus lessons, because your course is fully done.

message 27: by [deleted user] (last edited Dec 14, 2014 11:45AM) (new)

I just learned how to say, to be or not to be:
Att vara eller inte vara.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 167 comments That's so cool!

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 167 comments I just learned that pain means bread.

message 32: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneyokayokay) | 164 comments Mod
haha, that's funny! I just love pain with butter!

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

XD Toasted pain

message 35: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneyokayokay) | 164 comments Mod
Oh yeah, and the kind of pain where it is burnt? Then it melts the butter so it softens the pain. Nothing like burning pain.

message 36: by ➳Halina➳ (new)

➳Halina➳ That's the thing about pain. It demands to be felt.
