Should This Book Be Taught in High School? Yes... No... Maybe?

I love goodreads. It is a great site for all book lovers that know how to critically look at the material and analyze the book. I know how passionate all of you users are about books because I am too. This year, our school took the book out of the curriculum so I didn't get a chance to read it. My two older siblings read the book with no problem. One of them who never liked the books that were taught because they didn't appeal to her loved this book. So I decided to read it and asked my English teacher to have a copy.
I loved this book so much and was so passionate about it that I am planning to write to my school board to bring this book back because it has important life lessons that are need to be addressed in our high school career. The problems are happening to us, have the chance to happen us, or we might come in contact with someone in one of these issues.
