ABANDONED. book where a single struggling father meets a girl he used to know from high school

it’s about a struggling single dad and this girl who used to know each other in high school (pretty sure they met once he was like a bad boy and blew smoke on her or something) they met each other again and the girl helps out with a costume for his daughter and he fixes her car, towards the end there’s this crazy guy who I think knew her from high school as well and runs her over and kidnaps her, she also faints randomly once when taking care of his daughter
