Just trying to work out how to manage this forward. (Not at all worried about last week :)

Is this something that you will want to catch up? - that is, read books that fit the categories if the library (or wherever) reopens in the next few weeks? Or would you want to skip those weeks?

MountainKat | 31923 comments Hi Jane, can I get a confirmation - if a player has resigned or been removed from the challenge, are their shelves are no longer an choice for Option 2 or not?

Mamacita aka MawMaw (mamawantsbedtimestory) | 989 comments Does the series rule apply to the list as well?

message 75: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24366 comments Hi Kat, we haven’t addressed this before however I am ruling that their shelves are no longer available after the week that they leave. The team has a small advantage of fewer members, therefore they must deal with a smaller choice of books.

message 76: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24366 comments Hi Mamacita - the series rule only applies for option 2. It cannot be used for lists in option 1.

Thx.

Mamacita aka MawMaw (mamawantsbedtimestory) | 989 comments Another question...
Book published by Harlequin... Harlequin is a division of HarperCollins. Does it have to be only Harlequin or can it be part of HarperCollins as well, such as Avon?

That is what I thought, but hadn't thought about it before. While it is on my mind - thoughts on this same question for the last week when we are using a different teams shelves for Option 2? How do we know who is still participating or does it matter?

To keep this straight forward, it has to be Harlequin :)

Good point. I do update the list of members at the front of the team thread (line through those that have exited the game) but I might republish the team compositions as well when we hit week 11...

message 83: by Jane (PS), Moderator (last edited Mar 28, 2020 05:39PM) (new)

Jane (PS) | 24366 comments Heads Up

I've had confirmation that our 'pick' lists do not always update after we remove books from there. All my picks were made yesterday as I looked at members' shelves (PMs were sent minutes later) however one member has replied to say that book I picked was removed days ago. The same in the reverse has happened to me for at least a couple of years.

So - mystery solved to a degree. Your lists do not always update when you move books around.

My only suggestion (which I will trial) is to refresh the screen/page when you move books off one list and onto another. And do this before navigating to another page.

Does anyone else have feedback on this issue?

Sorry - wrong challenge!!

message 84: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24366 comments In light of the current craziness, I am aware of one member who uses the public library to access internet, and another who can only access internet at work. This will severely limit their ability to keep up with the game and some leeway will be required.

Please let me know if you are also faced with these sort of issues.

Yes - any cover of the book is fine for qualification :)

Page numbers need to match the official book that you post, but the cover can be any edition.

I'm not sure I would find that less stressful, but for the most part - I can't look away, it's like a train wreck!

We recently started escaping into the Marvel movies nightly - we're good for a couple more weeks!
