Bonus points, points (can be exchanged for bragging rights) for Translated Fiction and books over 800 pages.

Well done Marina!

Just bragging rights."
Michael - Just as a suggestion for next year - Since there has been less participation in these challenges perhaps the translated fiction and 800 page categories could be used as alternates for one or two genres that are not appealing to some readers. This is a great challenge and more participation would be great.
I like the idea of alternates but I fear people will just substitute the genres that they don't like, which may defeat the purpose of exploring all genres of literature.

Doing the Insane Challenge a few years back, I read some genres I might not ever have read and ended up really enjoying everything.
I just added No. 10, Historical Fiction, A Beautiful Place to Die by Malla Nunn. It's set in the 1950's apartheid South Africa and is very descriptive of all the different cultures. The main character is Emmanuel Cooper and Nunn has a series featuring him and I would be happy to read another one.
I almost put Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee for this category, but the racism in Watchman isn't new and it's set in the US (there is also controversy about whether it was ever meant to be published since it is considered a draft of To Kill A Mockingbird), whereas the apartheid setting of South Africa was new. and with many, many cultural elements.

So that leaves 2, Romance and Horror and with Halloween coming up I should get to both of those soon.

Great idea! One thought would be easy challenge (no substitutions), hard challenge(one substitution, insane challenge(both bragging rights categories could be used as substitutions). Even if people were substituting for genres they don't care for they would still be reading from 12, 23 or 34 genres and would be participating.
