Agreed! While his biography started out interesting, it really slowed to a crawl. The cases (particularly the one that frames the book) were interesting, however!

Beth Behr | 7 comments This was a good account of a fascinating time in the development of crime scene investigation, but the truth is the guy was a jerk and not a very interesting person. I thought the author did a commendable job trying to fashion some intrigue by focusing on his cases rather than him as a person. He would be a very interesting main character to center some historical fiction on though! Kind of a CSI meets Sherlock Holmes with a little "reality" mixed in.
