Today, I shall mostly be...

Hope you enjoyed your evening, Collette. I don’t get updates at all, now, so can only catch up the long way round. I’ve tried various things but nothing works. Annoying.

Collette wrote: "Hi Isabella. I did, thanks. Perfect Saturday night for me. Hope you're well. 😊"Fine thanks, Collette, just a bit miffed at not getting notifications. Hope you're okay, too.
Isabella wrote: "Whatever is she on, Suzy? I could do with some... 😉"Sorry Isabella, I didn't realise you had responded because I also don't get any Goodreads notifications anymore ... x
Checking back through Pixie's daily diary (kept for reference in case of any episodes of illness) ... Pixie had just eaten half a pouch of Lamb & Duck in Jelly from a box of Whiskas Adult 1+ Duo Adult Meaty Combos sprinkled with a handful of Chicken flavoured IAMS Adult 1+ Complete Dry Cat Food ;o>
She had also just had a wee in her toilet tray and that usually triggers off an attack of the zoomies too ... we call it "pee-phoria" ... ;o>
Watched a cracking wee horror movie on Prime this afternoon called Kristy, followed by an episode of my gorgeous Supernatural boys. More Supernatural later, then some Heartbeat and a nice cold bottle of wine.
This morning going to local Farmer Market in Kinsale then heading home after spending some wonderful time in co Cork south. To get a whiff here is a link about this place (no that couple not us).https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVGxP...
Not too far (about 70 miles) from where my Mum's family originated and lived for many generations ... thank you Post for all of the happy memories that your link brought to mind ;o>
Today I shall mostly be ... marvelling at the cheeky bright red Bullfinches that have been sneakily enjoying flying into the Greenhouse to steal and eat our Tomatoes despite me putting out a wide range of different foods for them ... and at the two beautiful Parakeets that have invented a new game of perching high up in the Apple Tree and trying to make Apples drop directly into the Birdbath below. What with having all the back gardens around here over-run with Squirrels this year, and having several of them working hard on their personal best in unripe Pear throwing techniques, I am just thankful that we are having a year of bumper crops of fruit and vegetables ... more than enough to satisfy everyone's appetites and unusual creative endeavours ;o>

I managed to keep our blueberries this year by wrapping the bush in netting. There are plenty of blackberries to go round, though and the pigeons enjoy the laurel berries. I know this because their donations to the pathways are very dark blue. There's a birdbath on the back steps which the pigeons use. They lose a lot of water because they're so big and clumsy. Last week I bought damsons for jam and today the same greengrocer had greengages. Double joy!
Enjoy the show.
I'm having withdrawal symptoms not knowing what Collette is drinking and watching each Saturday. C'mon Collette - up your game!

:)
Oops. Didn't watch my gorgeous boys this weekend, but I did see a couple of good films on Prime...The Last Straw and The Intruder. Wine of choice was a white. Can't remember what kind. Just that it was 'A Nice Drop Of...'
Sounds good. I don't get any notifications at all any more, so I just wander round occasionally to see if anything's new...
Isabella wrote: "Sounds good. I don't get any notifications at all any more, so I just wander round occasionally to see if anything's new..."Hi Isabella. Can't talk for anyone else, but my notifications seem to be working fine again (at the moment anyway).
Hi Collette, I've no idea why this has happened. Tried logging out and back, tried turning off the laptop and my phone, nothing works. Must be something in settings or security I suppose but I haven't been able to find anything. Oh well...
Isabella wrote: "I don't get any notifications at all any more, so I just wander round occasionally to see if anything's new..."The little red number of new posts indicator thingy is still very hit or miss for me. There are a few threads where it is totally absent in the main and then others where it seems to be working fine. I have no idea what's going on but it has been like this for a long time now (for me).
I’m in the same boat as Helen. Red indicator for new posts works on all but the Snails thread and What Are You Hearing.
Isabella wrote: "... There's a birdbath on the back steps which the pigeons use. They lose a lot of water because they're so big and clumsy ..."We have similar issues with the Pigeons that tend to mostly use the large stone birdbath at the end of the garden.
I am not sure if it is always the same bird but, every day during the hot days of Summer, there will be a Pigeon who has just plonked itself down, taking up all the space while displacing most of the water ... just spending hours chilling while having a Spa Day!
We often joke that it is probably waiting for the Spa staff (us) to switch on the Jacuzzi jets ;o>
We used to send our darling Tia (always such a willing volunteer) down the garden to have a quiet woof with it as we had to make it move so that all the other birds could also get the opportunity to use the birdbath ;o>
Had a bit of a calamity this morning when my sheepskin rug got caught in my 4 week old Air Ram. The most horrific noise and the green lights went red. D shouts through from the computer "What the f*** was that! Don't tell me you've gone and broke another one. " Luckily once I detangled rug from hoover it's working normal again. Phew!!! Definitely looking forward to my gorgeous boys later (who I've been neglecting these past couple of weeks) and tonight's bottle of wine.
Dipping into a charity shop find this morning, in perfect condition, a fully illustrated 'Book of Genji' for £2.50. Such luck!
Making soup (spicy lentil and veg), checking that nothing's blown away (our gusts are in the low forties, so nothing like as bad as some) and going to have our flu/covid jabs at the surgery. Such fun!
I should revisit "Heartbeat". It was a family staple in the 90s. When my daughter recently recommended I watch "I, Jack Wright", I had to ask her if she'd recognised Niamh Cusack as the grumpy secretary (she had). I recently watched all 8 series of "The Royal" (with Claude Greengrass as one of the early characters) - enjoyable mindless fluff. I'd also enjoy watching "Hamish Macbeth" again - don't think it's available to stream here.

(*a tiny blur of grey and white fur hurtles in bedroom, leaps on bed, launches herself at windowsill, rests for several seconds frantically panting with ears flattened to head looking more like a demented Owl, then recklessly throws herself across the room at a chest of drawers, bounds with a single leap over to the dressing table, immediately shoots upwards to the top of the wardrobe, rests for just a few seconds, then abseils down curtain, attacks carpet with a full minute of manic raking, and then rockets out the door to go flying at full speed back down the stairs*) ...
Yep! Nothing at all to see here! ;o>
Just the usual slow and easy pace of a peaceful and restful Sunday morning! ;o> ;o> ;o>
