Having a quiet day with Baby Lamp while her Daddy's at the club. Tonight, the usual bottle of wine and a film or two.

Think we might be taking Baby Lamp's collar off tomorrow, all being well. She looks so sad with it on...and it has dinner over it, bless her. ☹️
I think the on and off thing would totally distress her, Suzy. D had a tear in his eye for this morning. She jumped onto the living room windowsill and her silly collar got in the way. Wee soul nearly fell off. She sits with her head down as well because she's a wee baba and it's too heavy. Her eyes are watering as well. Worse comes to the worse if she tries to scratch or bite her wound, we'll get her a wee cushion collar from Pets At a Home. It's 2 mins away in the car. It's got to be better than that Elizabethan monstrosity she has on just now.
Tonight I am mostly just crying with joy and relief at the wonderful news amidst SO much utter horror and terror, desperation and despair ... Operation Ark has completed it's mission! ... WOO-HOO!!! It was never ever about 'Pets before People' and, as of 4 hours ago, all of the Nowzad Staff have finally managed to make it safely through to Islamabad in Pakistan and into the care of the British High Commission! ... YAYYY!!! ;o>
I just hope the remaining Kabul Small Animal Rescue Pets AND People can also manage to get out now - as well as everyone else who is also in constant fear of their life, and urgently needs, as well as wants, to leave Afghanistan ... x x x
great news their staff got out Suzy.Collette ,what did you have done to your snowdrops nails?Has the cone of shame come off yet?I'm still off work two days a week, the twins has now both got covid ,Js been really rough but Izzy doesn't seem as bad ,Their brother seems to be getting away with it at to he moment.
Buying furniture. Managed to get 2 nice solid pine beds, chest drawers, bookcase, all second hand and fairly handy money.I didn't really think about all the furniture the extensions 3 new bedrooms would need!
Painting and decorating takes an age too.

We got them trimmed just. Thought we'd kill 3 birds with 1 stone rather than having to take her back to the vet again again a month or 2. We took the cone off Tuesday morning as it was making her eyes sore. She hasn't licked anywhere near her wound bless her. You can't even see it now. Got to send another pic of it to the vet on Sunday then they'll be able to sign her off.
Where has Jack Daniels Honey Tennessee Whiskey been all my life?Forty four years old and I'm only just tasting this wonderful elixir.

It's aged for 44 years?
due to the huge turnover of (drunken) bees employed at the distillery to filter the the whiskey through the honeycombs - massive loss of fluid through the wee holes at this stage in the process - it takes significantly longer than would be usual to hive age the 'cratur'.

Very technical.
Tonight's film of choice with a bottle of red...The Lost Boys. Sitting here watching it for the God knows how many time (?) my 47 year old self can still remember my 13 year old self being totally and utterly blown away with it when I went to see it at the now long gone Rialto in Dumbarton. Still a brilliant film and one of THE best soundtracks ever. 🍷🍷
One of my favourites too Collette. So many good teen movies in that era - The Goonies, Stand By Me, all the John Hughes films, The Outsiders, and many more.

This may or may not be good news:

Don't think I would be in a rush to see it. 👎You're right there, Val. Another 80's film I really like is River's Edge. And Pretty In Pink...
I have never seen The Lost Boys, so it seemed serendipitous when I saw the DVD for 20p in a charity shop this morning. Duly purchased and I’ll watch it tonight,
Trimming a Nuns Hedge. It was all lopsided from her solo efforts. But in 2 hours all was even again, trimmed nicely. Happy days.

Been one of those weeks...electricity company put in a 2nd gen smart meter on Monday, got up Tuesday morning and the console thingie had stopped working and the meter wasn't giving a reading, then found out today said electricity company (Symbio) had went bust yesterday. D and I have all the luck. Like a lot of other people in the same boat we're "sitting tight". On a better note we picked up the keys to our beautiful new black MG3 Nav this afternoon. Didn't think we would be getting another car until next March, so a lovely surprise courtesy of D. Think I'll have a large commiseratory/celebratory vodka and Irn Bru later.
Everyone else has evacuated the house, so I can knock through the back wall of the cottage, into the new extension.Ho hum, what fun.
Steak in fridge for later, although I'm tempted to get a sneaky solo Indian takeaway. :0
...holding on to my glass of red wine while Snowball chases one of her balls about. She'll have planked it under the couch by tomorrow morning along with her other stash,
Ohhh bless 'er! ... Moo has always chosen to make the underneath of our Sofa her own favourite Den space - although she now spends almost all of her time sat on the Sofa next to us these days since we lost our darling Tee. The pair of them used to both roll over and lie on their backs to playfight with each other underneath the Sofa at some point every day and also take it in turns to 'hide' Toys and Chewies from each other under there too - LOL!!! ;o>
Waiting for the man/woman from Scottish Power to arrive to fit our smart meter. He/she was supposed to be here between eight and twelve this morning.Failed.
Derek, you've just reminded me that we're supposed to supply our new electricity supplier Eon with a meter reading. Unless our (only installed Monday before last/conked out the following day's) supposedly smart meter's came back to life in my absence, I imagine that will be another fail.

How you gonna call it then, Archibald or Patrick? If a boy...
Today's plans: a quick shower and Corrie on catch-up, then tonight a nice bottle of red and a Christmas horror film or two.

Today is annoying job day.Shower's been playing up for a while, so after some googling....
And after turning the power off and water. Successfully took the shower cover off, found and cleaned the filter, bled the shower to remove airlock, reassembled...and it all worked.....
Hurrah...
