Today, I shall mostly be...
yesterday i received pfizer vacc, no.2. no problem, until 11a.m. today when the reaction hit - was compelled to lie on my bed and sleep for two hours, and then woke with a coldness in my bones i haven't felt in many years - put on my hoodie and woolly bunnet and did nothing but shiver for a further two hours, feeling like keech till i fell asleep for another hour - seem to be o.k.(ish) now. strange!
Tech XXIII wrote: "yesterday i received pfizer vacc, no.2. no problem, until 11a.m. today when the reaction hit - was compelled to lie on my bed and sleep for two hours, and then woke with a coldness in my bones i ha..."That's just the government software booting up.
I do know one person who slept for 24 hours after his first pfizer jab.And he's not the kind of person to ever languish in bed.
Fine afterwards he said, but it knocked him for six, first off.
Tech XXIII wrote: "yesterday i received pfizer vacc, no.2. no problem, until 11a.m. today when the reaction hit - was compelled to lie on my bed and sleep for two hours, and then woke with a coldness in my bones i ha..."Strangely, Su also had her second Pfizer vaccination yesterday and was absolutely fine until this afternoon when she suddenly developed a blinding headache and had to go to bed for a couple of hours. Now we've got the wood burner on for the first time in weeks to keep her (and the puppy) warm.
Today I had my first experience of a French hospital A&E unit after a slight gardening accident which caused a nasty gouge in the back of my hand. I was quite impressed, far better than any of my similar visits to the NHS. It was interesting though.Found our way in, waited for five minutes and then got checked in.
Shortly after, got taken through to triage and examined by a trainee nurse, supervised by a qualified nurse. Both agreed it needed stitches and I was taken off to treatment room. Shortly after a young lady arrived and left some medical supplies and went out again.
Not long after, a trainee doctor turned up with a trainee paramedic to practice on me. They decided that there didn't seem to be any tendon damage, but had to go and get a qualified doctor to confirm their decision.
Another short wait, they came back with boss doc, who agreed but said they needed to check the tendon more closely and they left.
Another short wait and the two trainees came back, plus a blond lady who wanted to look at the injury. She did so and then left, never saw her again so I don't know what that was about.
Trainee doc then did the local anesthetic, had a closer poke about to check the tendon and got proper doc to give the go ahead for the stitches.
By this time Su was starting to feel a bit queasy and decide to sit on the floor and stop watching.
Finally, trainee doc inserted seven stitches while Su didn't look on. Then it got a bit worrying as she went to get proper doc to check the stitches and I had this vision of him telling her they were not up to scratch and to take them out and try again.
Finally got bandaged by a nurse and was allowed to leave clutching prescriptions for dressing, daily attendance by a nurse for redoing the dressings and on for a nurse to take the stitches out.
Two hours in total, not bad.
While it does sound painful, at least you got plent of attention - and timely too. Look after the wound and I hope you're back in business soon.
...still in a state of shock at being a new Mummy to a beautiful white Ragdoll kitten. D went out this morning to drop something over at his Sister's (or so I thought) and came home with pussycat in her new carrier, litter box, litter and food. She's hiding (asleep I think) in the kitchen at the moment, but seems to like being petted. I've called her Snowdrop. Other plans today are to do a kitty shopping list for Pets At Home, ie brush, scratch post etc then I'll phone the vet on Monday to get her booked in for her jabs.
D's been speaking about it for a while but I still wasn't expecting it, Suzy. I think I was laughing and crying at the same time. When she gets more used to her surroundings, I'll put a pic up. Oh my poor bears etc in the future.
I know I've said it before but I'll say it again ... you are a very lucky Girl and your D is most definitely one in a zillion and a keeper! ;o>I'm just wondering as to how on Earth you will manage to find her if she decides to play Hide & Seek or falls asleep amongst all of your Bears! - LOL!!!
Thank you. Tell me about it re the bears. It's bad enough in here. I thought she was under the couch when she was hiding in the kitchen. And if my black carpet ends up white, D'll be getting me a Dyson Pet Vaccume. Got a feeling our new addition is gonna be expensive ha ha.
Hi Suzy ,thanks I haven't visited here before .Collette ,Snowdrop sounds gorgeous. When you go shopping make sure yo get a decent brush and comb for her,if you start brushing her now it won't be so difficult when she's a big cat and really needs it,they are so fluffy.
That she is, Anita. Tomorrow's shopping list will be grooming gear, new bowls and a scratch post. She's made me laugh so much today. From hiding in the kitchen to coming right out of her shell. The back of the couch seems to be a nice place to kip, even if she's almost fallen off it twice. She loves the mouse and balls that were wee Ebony's, and I've been clambered over, chewed on, licked and she's lay on my lap for pats and belly rubs. The only mishap so far was the egg carton noise startling her this afternoon, where she got a fright and hid totally under the couch. I'm in love with her. ❤️❤️❤️PS she totally loves her food. My Ebony would have turned her nose up at Asda Tiger but this wean loves it.
Awww, I think the whole Forum is very likely going to be falling in love with her as well, Collette ;o>
happy new cat, collette, let's see some phoaties.hope she doesn't turn out to be a psycho nutbag like bob z! this morning - a squirrel, two crows (siding with the squirrel) and the wee goofball, under the neighbour's decking, up the wall of the house (this is when the crows intervened), and much noise made in the chase! no animals or birds were harmed in this incident, but it did nothing for my nerves!
LOL!!! ... I bet Bob had the time of his life and then strutted into the House afterwards feeling extremely satisfied and proud of himself for all of the madcap fun and exercise that he had!!! ... HA HA HA HA HA!!!Have all of your Neighbours got 'For Sale' signs up now?!! ;o>
Cheers, Tech. She's a house kittie so we won't be having that kind of shenanigans, thank god. I'll have photos up by next weekend.
Just don't let the lovely Lady Lux ever explain or show little Snowdrop over Skype the best and most fun way to disembowel a Stuffed Toy!!! ;oO
Well, that's Miss Snowdrop booked into the vet's next Thursday afternoon for her jabs. Think catkins is gonna be good for my diet. Don't get time to eat right with her around ha ha. Bloody painful when she uses your bare legs to get up onto th seat though. Off to Mum's til Thursday now so D has all the fun for the next day or so. She's a wee poppet. Still amazed at how gorgeous and happy she is. And how mischievous...

We have 2 Cats here. I have mixed feelings about them, as I can't handle the bird killing,
We've been after a puppy for a while, but very difficult now. Labrador pups are going for 2 to 3 thousand.
Insane.
When I bought our now elderly Labrador she was 280 euro.
Cheers, Tim. I'd been Saying to Mum for the past couple of weeks that I had this feeling that I was gonna come home one day and there would be a kitty there. Snowdrop was a great price compared to some Ragdolls. Her Mum is full Ragdoll and Dad is 3/4 Ragdoll and 1/4 Exotic. D had to go down to Troon to collect her. £350. Pets 4 Homes we saw her on. Only thing Snowdrop will be murdering is her stuffed mouse. She has the run of the living room, kitchen and hall at the moment. On Friday after I make the bed, dust and Hoover, I'll leave our bedroom door open. I think the only mischief she'll be able to get up to in there is knocking a perfume bottle over. Hope you find a better priced puppy somewhere. Try Pets 4 Homes, Gumtree etc...

It's one thing to take the dog out once or twice a day when working from home but once the daily commute resumes, it could become a chore too far for some people.
Just a thought ...

Base Liar more like.
Back in hard lockdown for 7 days I couldn't meet the usual group of up to six for coffee this a.m., so met one (maximum allowed & both masked) for a takeaway coffee and chat. This arvo I watched telly - "Geordie", a childhood favourite of mine - then sorted out drawers of scarves, gloves, beanies, jewellery - a job that's needed doing for a while.

The lockdown was based on the 26 infected cases (prior to today's 4) that have been out in the community (before testing) for the last fortnight. There's now about 150 exposure sites named on the website:https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/ex...
The sites include some popular clubs and bars as well as two large sporting events last weekend.
Luckily (?) all the cases can be traced back to an international traveller who landed in Adelaide, underwent the 14 day compulsory hotel quarantine, tested negative and was allowed to travel on to Melbourne. He tested positive a few days later - and it's the Indian strain.
As I've said before, we don't muck around downunder! Last year, there was one case in Adelaide and the whole state of South Australia (379,725 square miles) was ordered into lockdown. Luckily they were able to lift the restrictions earlier than the 6 days mandated.
Thank you, Suzy. I'm amazed at how she's settled in. She's a confident wee soul. She's using her scratch post now and the Hoover doesn't even frighten her. She's allowed in both bedrooms as well. Behaving so far...😊

She's very white and you say the Hoover doesn't bother her - could she be deaf? If so this would be a great asset when you fire up the stereo!

Listen here, you! If I put a romper suit on her and start pushing her about in a pram, THEN we have a problem. 😛
She didn't like it at the 2nd setting originally but now she just stays in it's path til you're almost at her. Her hearing is better than mine and D's combined. And she's safe music wise because I use headphones. I missed out on all of this with a Ebony. Wee soul was born on the canal bank and absolutely terrified. As I type this, cheeky is at my foot biting it.

buying a buttonhole for attending my niece's wedding on sunday - at trump turnberry, no less. the groom is a fitba' player and was until recently the club captain of dunfermline a.f.c., but in a new slant on things, yesterday signed for the mighty killie, so i will be able to commence his indoctrination in the way of 'the force'.the numbers are limited to 50 attendees, but i imagine it's still going to feel like a crowd - yeah, yeah, that was a crowd for killie before covid! - be innaresting to see how it all unfolds.

The poor groom's going to wonder what he's taken on! I know there's a mad uncle in every family but this bloke won't know what hit him once tech gets in his ear!

The Live Band have probably been asked to play Reggae Music at regular Intervals just to keep uncle tech calm and content during the Reception ;o>
