Mainly down your gullet? What is a 'quality' snack and what even worse processed salt, fat & sugar-laden crap do the family get to scoff?

I'm not worried just extremely surprised and rather confused by it, Mr B - not least because it can hardly be worth Amazon's while in doing this on this Order and they aren't even charging me for doing it either?

Logic says just apologise to the Customer and cancel the Order rather than request it off another Amazon in Europe - and I'm wondering if this is perhaps some sort of weird glitch on the Tracking function on Amazon.uk's Website instead of really happening? ;o>

There isn't a 'Sevilla' somewhere nearer, such as in ESsex, is there? - LOL!!!

Deep-fried, extruded, reconstituted potato and corn starch in the shape of ....... a hoop which many children (and quite possibly some adults) would insert the end of each finger into and then nibble them off (hoops not fingers although if you were ravenous .....), hence my early remark which was misunderstood entirely by suzy.

Derek W | 1365 comments So when we heard about the interest rate reductions at NS&I we promptly closed the affected account that Su had with them and moved the money elsewhere.

This morning we tried to print off the closing statement from their website. Couldn't, so we tried the option to get them to send a duplicate paper statement (despite the fact that we haven't received one).

That didn't work either because (their words) 'the statement requested was for a dematerialised account', so i guess they set their phasers to kill and blasted it out of existence?

Sadly, I can't have everyone unmuted at the same time because the background noise and feedback become excessive. This obviously hampers conversation a bit.

I know, I've done a naughty drivers' course on Teams with about 7 and a union Zoom meeting with 4 all audible at the same time; I was being facetious (to the surprise of very few).

While I was doing the latter with the laptop on my belly and lap and after I'd been told how to activate video so I wasn't just a black box at the top of the screen, Ella, one of our cats, crept on to my chest, nestled her butt into the crook of my elbow and her head on my shoulder as she has ever since her kitten days - that must've been distracting for the other Zoomers!

All 3 are in and looking hungrily at me. It's about an hour from usual scran time but if I'm not quick Louis'll bugger off and we won't see him until about 10-11 .... if we're honoured.

Ohhh, I did a very similar thing, Derek, a couple of years ago with an old, almost empty, and barely used Post Office Savings Account that I decided to close down.

I wanted to print out a Final Statement for reference, and just in case the DWP ever asked after it ... so I pressed 'Print' ... only to find out that my Account with them had not only closed with immediate effect but had ceased to exist the minute that the Page refreshed itself and there was simply no record of it to be found anymore.

It's a slight blue'ish colour ... I rather like it ... but it has been reported as not being as safe and durable and even for exploding and causing terrible injuries! ;oO

The old Pyrex is made of Borosilicate Glass and is apparently more resistant to Thermal Shock Breakage than the newer versions of Pyrex ranges made of Tempered Soda Lime Glass.

He's mistimed it if that's his plan, someone as bigly smartly strong as him should be OK after 10-14 days, the next debacle, sorry debate, is on 15 October. Can you put a bloated bag of fetid wind on a ventilator? Keep up those disinfectant injections. Never mind, Melania will surely keep the Cheeto-In-Chief comforted and hold his hand in a way that was totally conspicuous by its absence at the end of the last disruption fest (I thought she was about to step away when he put his hand on her back; what must her pre-nup say that keeps her there?) - maybe she already had symptoms and didn't want to pass them on to the Dumpster? Then again, as the radio news reported, "The President is male, 74 and classed as obese......." so maybe co-morbidities will do the world a favour? Make America Garbage Again.

My recovery is going to be big....so big....bigger than before, bigger than you've ever seen, I can't even tell you how big, but it won't be in the press, that fake news is bigger than anyone else has ever had. But we're bigger than that, they said I wouldn't make it, well I've made it big, bigger than the Democrats, bigger than slow Joe and lefty communist Bernie Sanders. Bernie's the biggest socialist you've ever seen, bigger than Mao, bigger than China. China thought they could they could wipe us out, wipe us out, all of us, with a huge virus, bigger than any other virus, but we beat if folk, the biggest virus, the China virus, we beat it big. I tell you if you had Hilary standing here, "Lock Her Up"..... "Lock her Up"...... yep she'd not stand up to China, that Virus, that huge virus would be bigger than ever. But I beat it, because like America I'm strong and when I win big we all win big...but they won't write about this....etc etc....

....

Brass Neck | 3979 comments Trump says, "It's very hard to keep your distance" - yeah, can't grab pussy from 2 metres especially with tiny hands.

"Mr Trump is confined to the White House for an indefinite period" - yup, that's what he's been saying all along, he ain't leaving even if defeated in the election. He'll develop long-Covid for about the next 4 years.

Sadly even though 64-74 year olds in the US have a 5 times higher rate of hospitalisation it only translates to a 1 in 25 chance of that happening. :¬(

There's no reason they can't have a 'virtual debate' just as the DNC and RNC were virtual this year. Biden might prefer it that way; he's been caught using a teleprompter during an interview (a couple of times he's accidentally read aloud things that are 'stage directions' off one), so why not in a debate.

You don't have to be a Trump fan to know Biden would be just a stalking horse for someone much worse. His mental decline is obvious to anybody who watches beyond the insipid stuff the BBC and the like churn out on his behalf. Just recently he said he'd been in the senate for 180 years.

The covid effect is overcooked to put it mildly

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bpu87...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWwn6...

The health authorities in Italy have said that 99% of those who died during the pandemic did not die of covid; rather they were people with existing serious conditions (co-morbidities). The inference is that covid simply weakened them to the extent they could no longer fight those existing health issues. Same in the USA, where the CDC (Centre for Disease Control) has said 94% did not die of covid. I've also seen similar from Australia. I don't recall the precise figures but it was above 90% again. The same would probably be true in the UK.

It's truly appalling that the government and its 'scientific advisers', Dimwitty and the former president of Glaxo (who has, since stepping down from the company, cashed in five million Pounds worth of share options, and continues to hold another £600,000 worth) plus the ludicrous Hancock, are still pushing the Ferguson line that we're all going to die. Project fear was a major part of the SAGE line from day one, and they continue on that path, apparently regardless of the long-term damage it will have upon our society.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...

I know most here loathe the Daily Mail, but note the paragraph mentioning Michael Levitt (a Nobel Prize winner) who was saying the same as in the two youtube videos way back when Ferguson's report was first published.

Wow, I used to think you were just being funny; now I'm not so sure. The problem is that their situation was entirely predictable - going to overpriced shared accommodation, desperate for the freshers' experience of mad levels of drinking and socialisation (dancing, hugging, copping off, you're my new beshtesh frien' you are, etc) - was always going to lead to rapid spreading of the disease which will do the majority of them little long-lasting damage so long as they isolate when they have it.

The problem is our failing testing regime doesn't have the capacity or speed of turnaround to identify and isolate those with it who may be symptomless so to have the whole campus locked down at 18 years old and your first time away from home may be a first world problem but don't downplay it just because they're not in a squalid refugee camp. Paying in excess of £9k a year for the tuition privilege along and around £200 a week for a room and in some cases lacking essential supplies as the Uni authorities haven't been quick enough to react to the inevitable problems their lockdown is creating is not a great look.

Still, Bozza and Gavo'll have 'em all home for Xmas to spread it to their parents and kill off their gramps. Huzzah.
