XD Almost finished one. The second one won't take long. And then I'll finish this one off :) I'll easily get it done, which I'm pleased with. Thought it was too much. But I managed to find one of them on audiobook, and I had a 3-hour drive today, so I got majority of it done then.

No worries! I'm only about 60 pages in myself. I usually like to get past 100 before really talking about the book. So far, it seems like a bit of a slow start.

Pg 180 (41%) - (view spoiler)[ OK, I have patiently waited through the world-building, and I'm ready for something to start happening - something besides him getting the girl and conquering the school bully.

I am glad that they explained that the bad guys hang out in big cities, because I was thinking it would be easier for them to blend in there instead of a podunk town in Ohio.

I still don't understand the "why" of the charm and being killed in series. The explanation of "because we couldn't just make you immortal" is a little lame.

I am looking forward to finding out the mystery of the second ship.

I also think the dog is that animal he keeps seeing in his dreams that can morph into other animals. He probably has to wait for another Legacy power to unfold before he can realize it himself.

There must be something else to Sam and Sarah. It has been 2 weeks since John had to use his powers in front of Sam and the kid isn't acting any differently? Of all the characters, he is set up to unknowingly betray John - perhaps by writing to that magazine with the alien stuff?? I'm also distrustful of the way Sarah said "I knew there was something "special" about you". Maybe she is just a love interest, or maybe she is a bad guy in disguise?? (hide spoiler)]

Pg 261 (59%) - (view spoiler)[ Now that we have seen the bad guys, I don't understand how they are better at blending in on our world. I also am beginning to wonder why the Lorians didn't just go to the government and ask for asylum, especially if they have given technology to earth's leaders in the past.

I am glad he finally explained to Sam. I also see the logic of staying - I mean, we wouldn't have much of a story if they didn't. (hide spoiler)]

Finished - (view spoiler)[ Alright, so is it just me or did the ending seem rushed? Perhaps we just spent so many pages with John making out with Sarah and nothing really happening that I got used to the slow pace??

I'm sad that Henri is gone. But I'm happy that he has another Lorien to continue the story with, and the faithful best friend and pet too.

I'm going to take a break from the series for a while (too many other things to read), but I could be enticed to pick up the next book at some point. Lately, I've found that 2nd books in series like this tend to be better since the world building is done.

(view spoiler)[ The ending did seem a bit rushed but i still did cry at the good bye scenes. Henri! Poor Henri! I litreally sobbed at johns reaction to henris death! however i like how he has number six with him now and she also lost her companion (i cant remember their technical name). You were right about the dog! he was an awesome side kick. I definatley want to continue the series but like you im taking a break because i have so much to read this month (hide spoiler)]
