SOLVED: Adult Fiction > SOLVED. The heroine's life was being threatened. By her fiance. I think she was a lawyer (not sure, though). She runs in to an actor (who is the hero of the story) and together they solve the mystery so that she gets her life back. [s]

Hina Tabassum Khatri | 4 comments I have read this book in the past and am looking for it again. The thing is that I can't seem to remember the name of the book. Or the name of the author or characters or anything despite the fact that I loved the story.

Further what I remember is as follows:

The story begins with the heroine coming back home from somewhere and she comes home to her house almost compleetly destroyed and her friend, who was house sitting murdered. The killer thought that this friend was the heroine herself.

She asks for a lift and this hero (who also happens to be a hollywood hero) stops to help her. He drops her home (that is when she finds it ramshakled). She senses danger lurking and calls the hero as he has given her her card or phone number. She does not know who to turn to.

Juels | 3314 comments Did she contact the police? If not, do you remember why? Any idea why she needed a lift?

Hina Tabassum Khatri | 4 comments She needed a liftbbecauae her car was almost desteoyes by the police therefore ahe does not contact them. She later goes with the hero to retrieve it.

One more scene that I recall is that when the hero brings her to his home and she preceeds him in, a police officer calls on them. The hero while entering says 'honey I'm home' when it is common knowledge that he lives alone. The heroine hides herself in the closet.
