I read it recently but it was somewhere I can't get back to it. All I can really remember is it seemed like a book from the 90s and the cover said it was based off a PC game. I checked all those books and it wasn't any of the WoW books.

when the encounter the beast it turns into a sorcerer that demands a payment for leading them to the edge of there vale that is when they notice a army of shargras and ogrea along with a creature called galok that is there rune caster. the sorcerer demands cassious ring to help them fight and hold of the horde most of the hunting party dies but the main character and a 16 yr old girl along with the sorcerer also called the trickster escape to warn his father who then gathers his army and goes to hold the invasion back from overrunning his people while he sends his son and the girl to the main city to talk to the council to see if they will send troops to help defeat the invaders. mean wile the sorcerer goes to a dragons cave to help create an army using dragon scales and a sword
that is about as much i can remember any help finding this book would be wonderful
