Hi Guys, I am looking for a once read sci fi book where the central characters are a female who keeps a captured man prisoner. She takes him about on her planet and slowly they come to fall in love. I only remember a scene set in a snow storm where he save her. I though it was the first in the Vorkosigan series but seems not. That's it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Thanks for the thought Michell, but as you say, sadly wrong! I have tried it to death on Google and looking for a book that has a female with a male slave.....I'm sure you can fill in what turns up!I was convinced that the books was an early work and the two lead characters were the parents of someone who went on to have a series. Maybe if I mull on it something more significant might come to mind. However the expression, fat-chance seems likely!
Thanks again, best regards, James.
Four weeks from now, probably at 3am, it'll randomly pop in to your head. That's what happens to me! Although it drives me crazy until it happens. Good luck!
Hi Chris, thanks for the help but unfortunately not a winner this time! It was years ago I read the book and I wonder if I have conflated more than one story and will never remember it. Actually at my age, I have more pressing things to remember than the name of a book! All the best, James.
Could it be Royal Rebel by Gail Gernat? Royal Rebel That has an aristocratic female genetic scientist with a male slave (several). I liked the story.
Hi Faith, thank you for the suggestion, but that's not the book. I actually have that series in the queue on my tablet. All the best, James.
How long ago did you read this book? Are we talking "years ago" as in 2016, or "years ago" as in 1983?
Hi Becky, sorry but years ago can be from when nymphs and faeries gambolled and frolicked in the time before the memories of man. Or yesterday. The not-finding this book is turning out to be much more interesting than the book probably was.
All the best, James.
LOL... Well good luck! My addition to the probably-not-it list is Lord of the Storm, but it seems unlikely.

Shaylah Graymist is our hero - bet he got bullied at school!
Thanks for the reply....... and the laugh! James.

Best regards, James.
