Deceased Authors Challenge

For this challenge, suggested by Angela, you choose two deceased (that is, dead) authors who interest you. Then, for each one, read both the first and the last book that he/she wrote. (You can go by publication date for the purposes of the challenge, if you need to --though the date something was published is sometimes long after the date when it was written!) This will make four books in all, so the idea is to read one a month for four months, or a quarter of the year. (You can start in any month!)
