Rachel (raquelle8701) | 1 comments Hi there, I am looking for suggestions on books for my school library where I work as a clerk. I am trying to make our collection more diverse and inclusive. Some things I’m looking for are:
- non-nuclear families
- people with disabilities
- non-white (Caucasian) characters
- non- heteronormative characters.. like couples/friends other then straight cis male female

It would be ideal to find these type of characters without focusing the plot or main story line on what makes them different. Just including them in the book to make the book diverse like the world actually is. I want the kids to see themselves in almost every book they read.

Looking forward to hearing some of your suggestions!

RW

Jay Cannon | 2 comments I wrote Crazy Rich Aliens. It's a story about rich Singaporeans who meet a group of aliens and go on an adventure with them. It contains a group of diverse characters trying to find their way through life from both sides of the galaxy.
