I would like to purpose a new game to create connections and insights by crowd-sourcing all of our collective brilliance.

To play... all you have to do is answer the question from the post before yours and then ask a new question to the person who comes after you.

The Theme:
I want to explore how Her Body and Other Parties compares to other books on the OSS Bookshelf. How is this book different from other books we have read together; how is it the same; what connections can we create together.

Both books discuss the body and ownership of it. The Husband Stitch, specifically, discusses the idea that there is a sense of ownership that is applied to women. That their bodies are not their own, but were made for someone else. Gay's book Hunger goes to the far end of this spectrum. But her body was violated and from that she expresses the concern that the PTSD, the memories, the shame, the emotions all control her body instead of her. And in the Husband Stitch, (view spoiler)[ once the wife allows the husband to own the last thing on her body that she claimed as her own, she too lost control of her body. (hide spoiler)]
