Can’t remember name of a book

The story is about a man who finds out he has a son, the child is young but he looks just like his dad that’s how he knows. Idk where the mom is can’t remember if she died or not I just know she’s not around in the story. At some point in the story the mans family comes over to meet the little boy and everyone’s really emotional about it but the child is really shy so all the people make him nervous
