Charlotte | 4 comments I read this book from the local public library sometime between 2013 and 2015.

It was a fantasy world fiction novel, medium in size, that followed the lives and interactions of about 5 or 6 people. It ended in romance, and i believe i found it in the young adults\ YPF section if the library.

Here are some scenes i most distinctly remember:
1. A human girl yelling at a half-elf male during his first hunting attempt.

2. There is a half-elf male (i believe living in a human settlement), a human female, a scarred female elf, and various kind trolls.

WARNING!!!!! ALL OTHER POINTS MAY BE\ARE CONSIDERED SPOILERS!!!!!!

4. A female elf uses glass (?) To cut and scar her face in order to avoid being married to her betrothed. Because elves value beauty, she believes herself safe fall all marriage, but also becomes a bit of an outcast.

3. Trolls value spirit, or at least this one does, and one of them heals the she elf of her scars after rescuing\kidnapping her. She is pissed about this because it was the scars that made her unmarriable. They eventually come to understand each other and fall in love. Trolls have their own version of magic, in a world full of magical creatures.

4. In the end there are at least 3 couples we follow to a happy ending.

Charlotte | 4 comments Update: I remembered the "happy ending" is, like, a magic test/marriage ceremony?? All the humans are tested for magic and the marriage ceremony actually ends with a hair (?) around their wrists, that sinks in and almost glows? It shows their bond, I think.
