Any reading plans, strategies, themes, Etc. for that bookshelf in 2015?

I plan to read a lot of the books "I" like to read. I participate in several reading groups both in-person and on-line and most of the time, I would have a night stand stacked with books I really didn't care to read.

Plan: Narrow down book clubs to the genres I enjoy the most.

Do you think reading challenges might help?

I am not sure. I am struggling to finish the one we are doing in this group. Lol I get sidetracked by the new books coming out.

I can relate to that.

Do you have any plans for the group?

I would like to keep reading and discussing books with the group. I may try and find some shorter challenges and different themes to try and encourage more participation. Is there anything that you would like the group to do in 2015?

I like the discussions and think themes are an excellent idea for variety. Maybe you can start a topic and see what ideas/suggestions the other members have, since everyone's gearing up towards the new year.

Good idea. I will post a discussion thread shortly.

Beverly I always start the year with a bunch of reading challenges as my eyes are bigger than the volume of books I can read in one year.

Over the years I have figured out what appeals to me and it is easier to tell what I do not not like to read. But each year I learn a little bit more about my reading habits.

This year (2014) I signed up for the Around The World in 80 Countries Challenge. It was harder than I anticipated because as the challenge revealed to me that I tend to read books set in certain countries (like Nigeria, Japan, etc) you can only count the country once. But I did complete the challenge and found some new authors that I liked.

Yes, I too plan on reading books that I have been sitting on my shelf/kindle unread for too many years. :)

What genres do you like to read?

I like to read popular fiction, some literary. Mystery/suspense/thrillers are my favorite, multicultural, all eras.
