Liam, Dorian and Christopher confront Gordon at his father’s home and learn all he had done to Mena and why. Your thoughts about Liam ending his life?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments I read this book several books back and I don't recall this scene clearly.

The question relates to Liam killing Gordon after he’d divulged how he had treated Mena and why, that he’d had her committed to the asylum to punish her, not because she was insane.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2973 comments Couldn't have happened to a better person. Gordon, in his titled position in society, thought he could do anything he wanted to anyone. I thought his self assured, smug recounting of what he did was nauseating and he didn't even sense his audience wasn't agreeing with him.

I agree, Anita! And I applaud this author for being willing to stay true to the times, situation, characters, etc., in writing a scene like this one. I can't, under any circumstance, see Liam doing anything different.

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 909 comments I agree too, Anita. I couldn't see this going another way. I loved when the author reminded us that Liam had told Mena if he ever found who hurt her, he'd stab him in the eye (I'm paraphrasing). I'm so glad the author followed through with that.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1810 comments It couldn't have happened to a more deserving scumbag!

I also like that Byrne didn't shy away from the harsher aspects of the times and was consistent with Liam's characterization. He was a violent man and dealt with Gordon accordingly.
