SOLVED. Dark thriller about a student/teacher relationship. The main character is a woman who many years after the affair meets her much older mentor in a supermarket. It's written in second person point of view. [s]

I think there was a woman in the cover, staring directly at the reader. The main character had a boyfriend or a husband but she still wanted to have dinner with her former teacher!

Beatrice, did you read this somewhat recently (i.e. this year?)?

It sounds kind of like My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell.

A student(Vanessa Wye) has an affair with her English teacher (Jacob Strane) in 2000. In 2017, Nessa sees Strane again, hearing that he's under charges for sexual abuse by a former student.

Unfortunately I didn't read the whole book, but only the first chapter as a sample, that's why I can't give you guys much info about what happens in the novel...

The year range is probably 2011-2014. I am sure it was a new release because I was able to read a promotional sample of it.
