Evgeny | 1 comments Hi all,

I read this book probably in the mid 2000s, wasn't an especially great book but if I can still remember about it 10 years later, maybe worth finding.

The main plot revolves around a couple who modified a 80s Ford Bronco to be a spaceship. In fact it's floating around in front of a space station on the cover! Space travel was either illegal or heavily regulated by a fairly present day government but someone in the book's universe put the software needed for FTL flight on the internet, free to download for anyone.

There was also a part where the main characters got lost on a planet on which the plantlife was inedible and plastic-like. This is all I can remember. Google is of no help, although I can only think of this book with a bronco as a spaceship.
