Lisa (anzlitlovers) | 103 comments Hi,
Can someone please tidy up the Elena Ferrante series?
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
At the moment Book 1 of the series known in English as The Neapolitan Novels is named as being in the series My Brilliant Friend (L'amica geniale #1) but if you click on it to bring up the rest of the series, the other three are titled The Story of a New Name (The Neapolitan Novels, #2; Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay (The Neapolitan Novels, #3) and The Story of the Lost Child (The Neapolitan Novels, #4).
I do not know whether it's correct to call the series by its Italian name L'amica geniale or its English one The Neapolitan Novels, or (the best solution IMHO) to combine the two as in L'amica geniale (the Neapolitan Novels) but the present muddle of both is confusing because I did not realise until I consulted Wikipedia, that what looked like two series was in fact only one.
Thanks as always for your help, Lisa

Sandra | 22779 comments Lisa, if you look at the series page, all the different languages are listed with the series titles. That's the way GR does it, providing the books are the same ie sometimes books are split differently particularly in French.

The reason some books are the default and then the English ones, depends on how many people shelved which particular edition.

Lisa (anzlitlovers) | 103 comments Oh, I see, I didn't realise that. It makes sense, because of course very popular books would have multiple translations...
Thanks:)
