Merging two books

Hi there,

I shared a story with my reader list and they reviewed it on GRs last year. So I uploaded a placeholder cover for it.

But this book is now on Amazon formally but with the title slightly tweaked - cover is otherwise the same. Is there any way to merge these two books - as the content is one and the same? We will need to use the new cover that's on Amazon as the main (and only) cover.

Could someone help me with this please? Or show me how to do it? Much appreciated indeed.

Is there an e-book (non-Kindle) edition?

No am afraid not. This is only an e-book. Is that a problem?

I guess you mean that there is only a Kindle edition.

A superlibrarian will have to merge the e-book.

Yes, you're correct - it's in Kindle and it's also available in Epub on all other online stores. But not in print yet.

Ok, then the e-book edition is valid and shouldn't be merged. I was just trying to find out if that one should be deleted or not.

Did any advance copies go out with the old cover?

I did send the story to my email list and two of them added the book and their reviews to Goodreads. I only discovered it later.

I hadn't planned on adding this book to Goodreads till it went on Amazon et al officially. It is up now everywhere with the official/final cover and title (The Gangster Boy of teh Savannas).

I think this is where the confusion has arisen!

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I'd much prefer if you could make the new cover with the new title and the main image for the book - hence my request to merge these two.

This way, people will know there's only ONE book - and they see the same cover that's also on Amazon, Kobo, Apple, Google Play etc...

Can someone please help? This issue is still not solved. In fact, now the current cover & title for this book (The Gangster Boy of the Savannas) has disappeared from Goodreads. The old version remains. I just need new new cover on this book - the content is 100% the same.

Hi Tikiri,
as an author you can set the new cover edition as default (main), to show on your profile. Please see:

However, as per Goodreads policy ARCs are considered valid editions, therefore the old version cannot be deleted.
