I read this book, my first and for now only one written by Reichs. I know i will read others but her more harder, 'bonny' writting structure for me puts me off a bit. I am a Patricia Cornwell obsessed lvoer and she writes more fluently. But the story was good anyway.

I like starting with book 1. I wouldn't have taken part if the read was 206 Bones.

hehe, I remember I liked the story but it was a bit too structured. I would still like the later Scarpetta's. For me it didn't reach that level.

I am new to this group and will be posting an introduction to myself next
I have read all kathy reichs books and enjoy them-though the first time I read her book-her first one I think I found it hard going but I retried and enjoyed
I have 206 bones to read and am aiming to re read all of them soon
I can only remember I like the book and I am sure once start rereading it it will all come rushing back!
I`ve read 4 of her books and din`t really care to read more.I think she is probably a very good writer but I feel like their isn`t much warmth in her writing

"longing for boats and bikes and sneakers, checking their watches, bitten by June."
"the exposed wires looped around themselves like worms in a bait carton."
"his words racing out like children released for recess."
soon afterward though I hit a slump.
The device of calling a friend to have him explain the psychology of serial killers which, it turns out, are never predictable, seemed forced and text bookish. And I felt that those clever metaphors and similes had disappeared.
Then things picked up again. I ended up liking the book. This was her First, and I will give her Next a chance.
Maybe next time both our bio-rhythms will be in sync.

I hate that television never gave Reich's Brennan a chance-she is much more three-dimensional than television's version.

Death du Jour.
