No worries Michelle, just take care of yourself so that you can come back to us happy & healthy :) Migraines are no joke so take it easy and don't force it.

I´ve been browsing through the group´s shelfs to see if I can find something I have in common with you. I found quite alot, most from yours and Michele´s shelf, so I can check the reverse cards easily ;)
Is there any special cards we need at the moment?

No worries! Just take good care and get better. No joke suffering from migranes, see that alot at my line of work. Best of wishes to you! :)

We still have plenty of time left over in the month and everyone seems to find books that work for multiple cards so you can really read what you want. But if you do want something to look for, look for E's, F's & H's which we have the most of. We have plenty of Reverses, and usually O's (1's) & S's (6's) are pretty common/easy/pretty much fill themselves so I tend to not worry about them.

Cards this works for:
0- Stand alone book
2-T (Thorn) character surname
3-H (Hargrove) character surname
4-F (Finch) character surname)
5- I (Irena) character given name
6-S (Sorcery) Title
8-E (Elisabeth) character given name
9-N (Nathaniel) character given name
Skip (K)- Katrien) character given name
Cover is either blue or green (I say green)- perhaps captains can take a look?

But to spice things up, the February Mini-Challenge is here! Details (with nice pictures) can be found here. But I'll also post here in our thread to make sure everyone sees it.
Details have also been posted on the 1st page of our thread for easy access/reference.

This is an optional mini challenge for our UNO players. This month we are baking a delicious space treat!.
We have given you a recipe for Astral Pavolva. All underlined words need to be found as words in text or title, items on covers or cover colours. All underlined numbers, are matched to books read by page numbers, series numbers or publication dates. To make it easy, these are listed below. For each book read you will receive 10 points.
Underlined Words -
There are 5 categories:
word in title
word in text
colour of book cover
item on cover
colour of item on cover
Underlined numbers -
There are 3 categories:
page numbers
series number
publication date
Creativity is the key to the challenge, not rules.
So, diagonal lines on the cover? That can work for "diagonally".
A green coloured book? Is the green a bit like a "lime"?!
Words can be in different contexts, so, for example, "peaks" could be a picture of mountain peaks on the cover
Numbers for the publication date can be the month or the day or the last two digits of the publication year. (3 digit numbers can not be used for publication date) Publication date is for the edition being read (and shelved).
If you complete every item in the recipe your team will receive 30 bonus points.
Astral Pavlova Recipe
(view spoiler)
(I'll post just the words we need so we can keep track)
But wait... there's more!
Have your team create a recipe for your team name and submit via message to the UNO Pixie by Feb 29 to receive an additional 30 bonus points.

◈ Books need to be finished after the start of this mini challenge on February 14, 7pm AEDST (countdown is here) and before March 1 at 7pm AEDST (Countdown to March is here)

Heidi’s Guide To Four Letter Words
By Tara Sivec and Andi Arndt
Completed 02/13/20
Cards:
0 Stand alone book
2 Authors first name starts with T (Tara)
3 Title starts with H (Heidi’s)
4 Has a four in the title
6 Author surname starts with S (Sivec)

I have 3 books I should finish tomorrow so I'll see where they would best fit.
But also need to point out that we have the opportunity to flex our creative writing skills to create a "recipe" for our group name. I'm not at all creative, and definitely NOT a writer, so that isn't one of my strengths. Anyone want to create something/work together to come up with something?????? PLEASE???

Those are great finds! But please make sure the page #s match the edition you read/shelve.

Yes, can only use each word once, and it is 1 word per book. For the words on the list, you can use:
- word in title or text
- color of book cover
- item or color of item on book cover
For the #s, you can use
- page numbers
- series number
- publication date (1 or 2 digit #s only).
Any books you finish now until the end of the month, and started after the initial start of UNO, can be used.

8. Character (Emily Spier)
9. Character..."
Did you happen to finish these after my earlier post that the mini-challenge started?

It could work for white cover or for 300 for 300 pages (depending on Ananya’s book). Haven’t looked up any words yet.

Definitely! Great thinking on that. I was looking for glass cups on covers.
Remember, you can be as creative as you like! As long as you can justify it (& it makes sense), we can use it.

I'm almost done with The Lying Game which I'll put down for Dry. Also almost done with Perfect for You but need to see where it best works. Don't think for any of the harder words though.

Oh wait, see you are currently reading it so please list them when you are done.

Each book can only be used for 1 task BUT the mini-challenge books don't have to be different than the UNO books. We can use each book for both - for 1 UNO card and for 1 mini-challenge task.
