This is part Leadership book, part memoir of Bob Iger's career that focuses mostly on his time as CEO of Disney. Similar to the leadership book I recently read by James Mattis, this book starts strong on Leadership and then kind of trails off into career story telling.
I worked at Disney and enjoyed some of the stories but I'm not sure others will find them that interesting. I did enjoy the keys Iger laid out early on Leadership (even though he doesn't expand on them all in detail beyond the stories he tells). One of the things I'm most intrigued by is how emotionally intelligent / empathetic Iger comes across throughout his career. I'm convinced this is the most important key to his success given his deft and successful handling of such BIG egos throughout his career path (Arlidge, Eisner, Jobs, Lucas and Murdoch). You can't ascend to where he has without mastering this skill and my sense is that it has served him well over and over again.
