When I was younger I read this book about a barbarian type fellow in a post apocalyptic future. At one point he had metal implanted underneath his skin so it would be harder to kill him. He had also "hooked up" with a young woman, and together they were running from something, I also remember tunnels lol. I know it is not a whole lot to go on, but It was taken from me when I was in foster care along time ago, and I donno, I just feel like I need to read it now. So if you can help, it would be appreciated.

Edward, when did you read it (that is, what year)? Was it a new book at the time you read it, or an older one? Hardcover or paperback? Do you happen to remember anything at all about the cover? Did the book say what kind of apocalypse it was (nuclear, environmental, etc.)? Anything about who was trying to kill them, or why? Were the tunnels subway tunnels, or more like hand-dug tunnels? Would you say the book was aimed at adults or more YA/middle grade? Any detail no matter how small might jog someone's memory!

It was an older paper back, most certainly aimed at adults. The art style was kind of like the old Moorcock Barbarians from Mars kinda thing. I am not sure what you call that style.

Maybe war, could have been nuclear. I am fairly certain the tunnels were above ground, the woman at some point had stopped and commented on the view perhaps. I think they were running from people that were after her more so then him, its really foggy lol it was almost 20 years ago.
