Secret” 2 stars.

Was not a fan. I listened to it but I don’t think that would have helped to read either.

finished...I loved it...it was different from most, but kinda the same...it's hard to explain....here's a brief, spoiler free (view spoiler)[Graham and Apollo (great name btw) meet by chance as kids, he's 14 and she's 11...they lose touch but reconnect a few years later...things don't work out but even though they love each other they go their separate ways...when they come back together years later it's pretty great...and also with some roadblocks...neither are broken, but kind of lost... I'm happy to announce that I finally finished a PFM book! I read (listened to Red Queen), and I give it 3-1/2 stars, and I'm not going to leave a written review, so I'll explain my rating here.

Up until the halfway point, it was probably about 2 stars--I was bored, mainly because it was just too similar to every other YA fantasy book I've read. I felt like ideas for scenes were taken from various other books, then changed slightly and put together in a patchwork quilt. Not plagiarized or anything--just not original.

But I know LOTS of people loved it--it won a GR choice award--so don't go by my review if you haven't read it. The writing isn't terrible or anything--the plot was simply meh for me. The last chapter would have ordinarily made me want to continue with the series, but my interest was lost long before that, so that final chapter wasn't enough to make me care.

But I'm glad I read it, so thank you for pushing me to do it, Teri!

Michele--is the story of The Last Letter about a dog? I noticed that it got a new cover with a dog on it, and while I love them and I don't mind them being in the story, I typically steer clear of books with animals, babies, or men wearing crowns or santa hats on the cover.
