Applejaxc | 1003 comments So. Ideas. Do you already have any that you've been dying to share with the world's greatest confidant, or do you want to bounce some back and forth?

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments bounce back and forth

message 9: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments Is domestic relationship RPs all that you're into? Aren't they a little... boring? I'm fine with romance and drama, but they should never be the focus of a story.

message 10: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments okay got any ideas

message 11: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments The other person I'm looking to RP with seems to find my idea for the Inter State Detective Agecy interesting (it's a replacement of the FBI, the way the FBI replaced the US Federal Marshals during the Hoover administration).

10 (or so) years in the future, low scifi-elements, and if the plot gets stagnant, any investigation can be randomly interrupted for a more exciting one.

message 12: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments okay so how about two FBI partners go on a murder investigation, they have always had feelings for each other but always hid it. But soon they start showing it during the investigation. But the male is married. The wife finds out and treats for divorce, but will that stop his affair.

message 13: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments I was thinking that the whole grand story would revolve around partner's pursuit of a master criminal, and-while important-the trials and tribulations therein would not be the focus.

message 14: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments okay

message 15: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments Are you not interested in a story that isn't focused on relationship drama?

message 16: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments I am

message 17: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments That's good to hear. I don't want to disappoint.

The character I normally use in this situation has a girlfriend (not married), so we can still somewhat pursue your idea.

message 18: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments okay

message 19: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments Sorry that my responses are far apart, I don't mean to keep you waiting.

There is quite a bit of reading to try to understand the setting I had in mind...

In place of the FBI, the Inter State Detective Agency (ISDA) has jurisdiction over all cases that cross state lines or concern domestic security that isn't under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court (situations with ambassadors, et cetera).
US involvement in the middle east has nearly ended, but oil-hungry Russia, China, and India have all turned their eyes to the deserts.
A growing religious-political movement (cult) is growing in power, albeit slowly. The Church of Reformation celebrates the enigmatic, mysterious "William."

ISDA training is as follows:
Written and multiple choice exam (similar to the ASVAB, ACT, SAT, or AP testing?) and a physical qualification course (minimum pushups, sit ups, pull ups, and ability to run 1 mile in under 10 minutes).
Candidates go to school in Quantico, Virginia (formerly the training ground and offices of the FBI) where they learn law and police procedures, pass firearm qualifications, take another test, and take another physical exam (with stricter requirements), then get assigned to a ISDA field office.

Normally in this scenario, the female is recently out of academy (or still relatively new) and was either newly assigned or transferred (for whatever reason you'd like) to the ISDA FoB in Newhaven, North Carolina, a quickly growing eastern port city with a steadily increasing crime late.

ow comfortable are you with Science Fiction? This particular setting is low-scifi, meaning it has nonreal elements but never unbelievable ones. There are no lasers, spaceships, or killer robots. There IS however a growing popularity, mostly among late-teen to young-adult (17-24), of "Body augmentation." Tattoos, while still prevalent, are not nearly as "Cool" as they once were; many people now get surgical implants of semi-functional modifications, like a tail or animal ears or canine incisors.
Ripley's "Believe It Or Not" theatres, as you can imagine, have gone out of business.
The ISDA has a zero tolerance policy on body augmentation the way most US police stations do now. For some agents, subdermal augmentations are permitted (the world of prosthetics and grafting has allowed humans to replace their organs with superior ones. The difference isn't inhuman, but it is considerable. There are also bone-strengthening injections that fill air pockets with alloys depending on how much you can pay, thyroid replacements, et cetera. A LOT of this stuff is only recently out of the experimentation stage, however, and the ISDA is hesitant to allow agents to use what could potentially catastrophically malfunction and result in their death and a failed investigation)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments wow

message 21: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments It's an RP I've been wanting to do for a long time and haven't. I'll respect your right to simply skim the above (it is a lot more to read than you bargained for, after all) and I'll slowly summarize as the story unfolds. All that is important to remember:

ISDA - NO MORE FBI

Tails/ears/glowing eyes/et cetera are newly popular, like tattoos. The ISDA has a zero tolerance policy on them.

The #1 firearms and military supply manufacturer in the US is Pride Industries, run by Jackson Pride

The USA is no longer fighting in the middle east. Now, oil-hungry Russia, China, and India are.

In place of Islamist extremists, the ultra-conservative "Newborn Christians" from the Church of Reformation is a quickly growing, violent group labeled a "Cult" by US law.

Your character will have to have attended the ISDA academy for two years. There are several mental and physical requirements; she has to be in good health and mental condition. It is your decision whether you want her to be fresh out of the academy or not; my own character has been an ISDA agent for several years.

Because this is my idea, I will gladly post first. Is this setting acceptable?

message 22: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments yes

message 23: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments What posting length are you comfortably consistent with? Because this is a forum, and not an instant chat, I'd prefer we stick around paragraph at the least?

message 24: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments okay

message 25: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments (You can decide how long she's been an agent. If she's a rookie, she's at least 21; ISDA recruits at 19 minimum and training is 2 years)

New Haven, North Carolina was like most big cities on the east coast; its economy was a healthy mixture of fishing and exportation, it had a blend of the urban elite and low-class, unskilled laborers, and it was hard to escape late-night neon advertisements. There were as many forms of entertainment available as could be paid for and traffic just slow enough to make it impossible to enjoy.
The city was still new to (your character's name?), as she had been transferred to the NH ISDA field office only recently, the newly assigned partner of Alan "Warhawk" Hawke, whose negative reputation for a short temper and often violent problem-solving skills was preceded only by an impressive record of successful cases. It was only fair that she was warned that he wasn't easy to work with, and that he had lost his last partner (one Agent Scott) to unfortunate circumstances while working Witness Protection.

She was to report the office two days after she arrived. It was the second day that she received a text message from her new coworker, asking to meet at the Blueboar Brewery, a bar a city block away from the field office and conveniently close to her apartment.

message 26: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments Kelly headed to the Blueboar Brewery. She had just gotten the message and she was lucky that is was close to her apartment. She walked out the Building and headed on foot to the Brewery. When she got there she took out her phone and texts her coworker ~im here~ she doesn't see her coworker so she sits at a table and waits.

((is this good))

message 27: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments (I'd prefer if you used past-tense and the < i > < / i > code to italicise, but otherwise I don't have any problems)

The Brewery reached its uncomfortable drone of Saturday-night shenanigans; a few happy drunks stumbled around, a cluster of young adults yelled threats at a TV, and the bartender guilley overcharged hapless party goers.

There was no obstacles in finding an empty seat. A waitress, on her way to another table, stopped to tell Kelly that all orders had to be made at the bar, before shuffling away. A few minutes passed; her text was returned: Running late. 5 mikes. The clock struck eight. A slender hand landed on the back of her seat, stopping the attached bombshell blonde from careening to the floor. "Sorry luv," she mumbled, moving to grab and adjacent seat. "This taken?"

message 28: by It’s.Annie (last edited Dec 08, 2014 03:48PM) (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments Kelly looked at the text sent and frowned. She didn't have time for him to be late. She nodded at the waitress and said' thanks, ma'am" she was not looking to order, anything. She felt someone pop up behind her and said" no this seat isn't taken for now" She looked at him and narrowed her eyes. She had not reason for why he called her luv and had for got to text back her coworker: Okay hurry I don't have time to wait.

message 29: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments ((better))

message 30: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments (It's a woman... note the female pronouns)

The woman smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry; may have had one too many. How about you? Happy hour... is like twenty minutes... my name's Elizabeth, by the way."

message 31: by It’s.Annie (last edited Dec 08, 2014 04:21PM) (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments ((sorry))

Kelly looked at the women and said" It okay, im Kelly by the way" she looked at her phone. where is he she thought to herself. she then looked back up at the women.

message 32: by Applejaxc (last edited Dec 08, 2014 04:43PM) (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments (It's alright)

"You waitin' for someone?" she drawled, obviously slightly inebriated. "Got a hot date lined up tonight?"

(I used to have a male character named Cecilia. It took me a year to convince everyone on my old site he wasn't a woman)

message 33: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments ((lol))

Kelly looked up and said" im waiting for someone but its not a date." she smiled up at the women.

message 34: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "You want to make it a date?"

message 35: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments ((is your person asking that?))

message 36: by Applejaxc (last edited Dec 09, 2014 03:56PM) (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments (Yes she is, otherwise I would have specified. Would you prefer I use pro/nouns every post?)

message 37: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments ((naw its good))

Kelly looked at the women and said" I don't know"

message 38: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "Ye'ver had an Australian kiss?" She asked with a knowing smile.

message 39: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments Kyle blushed and said" I have never, what about you"

message 40: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments (...do you/she know what that is?)

"I know how a woman likes them served."

message 41: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments ((yes, she does but she is a v, and yes I do))

Kelly smiled and looked at her phone and texts where are you

message 42: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments (Fxf doesn't make you uncomfortable, does it?)

"Well? Looks like you got blown off. But I'm here and I don't have anywhere to be for a few hours."

message 43: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments ((no))

Kelly smiled and said" okay, I wouldn't mind you being here, probably better than the person I was supposed to meet."

message 44: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "Rule number 1:" A disappointed male voice cut into the music and cacophony of drunks, coming from somewhere behind her. "never forget your objective. You were instructed to meet an individual here of a certain description; instead you agreed to a date with my girlfriend."

Elizabeth rocked back in her chair, laughing, as Alan finally made himself known. Dressed in a long coat against the cold night, he sat next to her, arms crossed. Despite the scrutinizing nonexpression he armed himself with, he could be described as handsome; he was in great shape, with a strong jaw and short hair.

message 45: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments Kelly turned around and said" actually I didnt agree to date her, I basically said I don't mind her being here, you see" she looked at him, and Elizabeth

message 46: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments (Sorry. babysitting so posts are slow)

"From where I was standing, she offered oral and you didn't say no," he replied bluntly. "You are..." he checked his phone, "one Ms. Kelly (lastname), correct? New agent at the New Haven field office?"

message 47: by It’s.Annie (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments ((its okay))

Kelly narrowed her eyes. She didn't like him at all so she said" yeah" she frowned.

message 48: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "Elizabeth, you can go."
Elizabeth pecked him on the cheek, winked at Kelly, then left.
"Describe your experience at the Quantico ISDA academy," he told her without preamble.

(Remember: 2 years minimum, physical and mental requirements)

message 49: by It’s.Annie (last edited Dec 10, 2014 04:44PM) (new)

It’s.Annie (itsannieeee) | 422 comments Kelly said" my experience has been good, at first I thought it would be easy but im not going to lie it was a little challenging and tough, but I think I managed to do good."

message 50: by Applejaxc (new)

Applejaxc | 1003 comments "Do well," he corrected. "Obviously you met the female fitness standards. Did you meet the male ones?"
