Thanks Marianne. Got it. I would have missed it otherwise!

Hachette consistently decline my requests. They say it's because I don't have a blog, so I only occasionally ask for a book from them just to test the waters but the result is always the same (maybe I'm Auto Declined - lol!). I'm not convinced I want to start a blog as I definitely do not need more books..

Auto-declined :(
I seem to be lucky with them. Especially now. I don't have a blog...

Same here Carolyn : (
Marianne recently gave The Safe Place by Anna Downes
a 5 star review. The copy from Affirm press appears as a read now for me. (St Matins is a request)
I did get an advertising email from Affirm about it this morning but don’t think it was a specific invite, therefore it may be read now for anyone.

Yes, it's only the copy from Affirm Press that is Read Now.

I've just moved the words telling of the two titles to the top of the blurb instead of the bottom!
That was a good idea Brenda to make it more prominent. It's always very disappointing to start reading a book and then find out you have already read it.
She told me that it is and it isn't! It's Jazz Baby plus another character's story - so basically doubled she said..

It's apparently got a lot more story to it than Jazz Baby Sharon :)

No more suggestions Brenda. I have 18 books waiting on Netgalley now and that is ENOUGH 😉

I've just combined the two titles so when you (and anyone else) reviews The House, it'll come up as a "2nd read"

I've managed to keep my Netgalley shelf to under 20 books for the last year but in the last few weeks it's suddenly blown out to 40!! So, I'm reading as fast as I can and ignoring this thread as much as possible!

Don't worry, I have 10 more than you! But nowhere near Carolyn's total ;)

I've got books with pub dates through to November so it's not as bad as it sounds and I'm still getting them read a few weeks before publication. But I starting to find it hard to fit in the other books on my tbr so I really do have to cut back on NG!!

I have a couple out that far too Carolyn - takes the pressure off :)
BTW did you see they've changed the publishing date of Exit to February next year?

Only 40? I have 45! NetGalley is VERY BAD for my TBR. Luckily, I do have some of them as hard copy...
Oh I feel quite good about my number......only 7 and all that that I’m really looking forward to reading.I hate getting above 15, in fact I start not to enjoy it and feel too pressured. I’ve consciously taken a step back and just book mark ones of interest and sit on it a while. Been burnt a few times being finger clicking happy 😊
I agree Marlin. I try to stay at ten but SOME PEOPLE who I won't name here tempt me all the time into getting more!
I love reading this thread. They are all very tempting but I’m not requesting until I catch up.Marianne wrote: "Only 40? I have 45! NetGalley is VERY BAD for my TBR. Luckily, I do have some of them as hard copy..."
Marianne, can I ask why you have them as ebooks and hard copy? Do you read them both?

I did see that .. after I'd read it!

That's the problem once you have too many to read - it can feel like a chore. I do like to have some flexibility in what I read and I can feel too constrained if I have a long list of netgalleys I have to read read each month. I just need to practice some self restraint!!

Veronica, I can only read the e-books at home and on the treadmill. I always have a hardcopy book going for my fresh air reading, walks to the beach etc.

I wish I could read and walk. I don’t think I could even read and treadmill. Reading and drinking tea is about as talented as a can get :))
Thanks for the heads-up, Andrea - I was granted a copy of “The Rain Heron” overnight. So excited, as “Flames” was one of my top reads of 2019. Only problem is that it won’t download to Kindle, so will have to read as a digital edition.
Thanks for mentioning that Sarah - I've asked and asked that they state how it's to be downloaded before you click the button but they still haven't done it!

I'd do anything to avoid reading on my PC.
I can still read on my tablet, through the digital editions app, but it’s more of a PDF style format. I’ll re-try downloading to kindle on the p.c. later.
The non-Kindle ones can be downloaded onto Aldiko. The text is a touch small and I do hate it in general, but it is better than a PDF.
There is a title by a debut Aussie author on NG through Text Publishing - The Night Whistler by Greg Woodland It sounds really good, and I was just approved :)
