NetGalley - Requests and Read Now Advice

Can you give me the ISBN so I can check it out please Carolyn? Thanks :) "
Thanks Brenda. The book is

I had the exact same problem Alda and downloaded a new copy just to check if it was a problem that had been fixed but it was the same. It occurs all the way through the book but not to the same extent as in the early chapters and really annoyed me, although I learnt to skip over it quickly. I think it's just May reliving her arrest that led to the predicament she's in now. I had a look at a few reviews and no one seems to have mentioned it which is weird!
This one sounds good. Historical mystery! Deception by Gaslight by Kate Belli

If anyone likes historical fiction, I've just finished If Tenderness Be Gold by Eleanor Albanese. It's set in Canada from the end of the 19th-century up to the first half of the 20th-century, and it's a story spanning 3 generations of a family, with characters coming from different backgrounds (e.g. Irish, Italian, Finnish). I really enjoyed this gentle story and I can recommend it. If you know some basic Italian it may be helpful, as some lines are in Italian.

Mixed reviews so far from what I can see, set in Victoria and a debut novel by this Australian author.

Just saw that too yay!!!

The Bass Rock by Evie Wyld and
Until I Find You by Rea Frey, a domestic drama that sounds good.
Also an ePub (you need Adobe Digital Editions to read this on a tablet or computer) of Pussweek: A Cat's Guide to Feline Empowerment, based on the magazine series Pussweek, written "by cats, for cats," - a feline parody of fashion and celebrity gossip rags. Looks like fun for cat lovers.
I also spotted:
Amethyst Pledge by our own Leonie Rogers, YA scifi
Beyond Fear, a thriller by Aussie writer Jaye Ford (first pub 2011)
Lapse by Aussie writer Sarah Thornton, rural thriller, is still available
Little Disasters by Sarah Vaughan (author of Anatomy of a Scandal)
Brave Girl, Quiet Girl: A Novel by Catherine Ryan Hyde is also still available. I've just finished it and loved it.
Educated by Tara Westover - highly recommended
The Night Swim by Megan Goldin (I was declined for this so can't get it now - so annoying!)
Call of the Raven by Wilbur Smith
There is also When She Was Good by Michael Robotham and Tiny White Lies by Fiona Palmer available for request :)

Thanks. I was looking at the 'read now' options last night and missed a couple of these.

They usually refuse me too, until last year when I had one approved. So I guess it doesn't hurt to ask :)

So if anyone is feeling overwhelmed with deadlines - it might pay to check!
(Also frees me up to select some more titles 😈)

I was caught a couple of days ago with this Andrea and received an email about The Women's Pages going out to September. I should recheck my shelf too! Thanks :)
