NetGalley - Requests and Read Now Advice
Hi Carolyn, I've read you have also a copy of The Sin Eater. I'm having a hard time reading the book, as I have old lines mixed with the new ones, breaking the flow. Did you notice the same thing in your copy? Just wondering if it's only mine having this issue. Carolyn wrote: "Brenda wrote:

Thanks Brenda. The book is

It occurs all the way through the book but not to the same extent as in the early chapters and really annoyed me, although I learnt to skip over it quickly. I think it's just May reliving her arrest that led to the predicament she's in now. I had a look at a few reviews and no one seems to have mentioned it which is weird!
This one sounds good. Historical mystery! Deception by Gaslight by Kate Belli

Thanks Carolyn, I'm just at the start of the novel, at least now I know it will be less frequent in later chapters. If anyone likes historical fiction, I've just finished If Tenderness Be Gold by Eleanor Albanese. It's set in Canada from the end of the 19th-century up to the first half of the 20th-century, and it's a story spanning 3 generations of a family, with characters coming from different backgrounds (e.g. Irish, Italian, Finnish). I really enjoyed this gentle story and I can recommend it. If you know some basic Italian it may be helpful, as some lines are in Italian.

Yes, I've still to write the review though, plan to do that by the end of the weekBrenda wrote: "Is the one you've just finished on NetGalley Alda?"
Finished
Sheerwater by Leah Swann which is being archived on April 1st.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Mixed reviews so far from what I can see, set in Victoria and a debut novel by this Australian author.
I recently finished After She Wrote Him by Sulari Gentill, which is still Read Now until 7 April. It's quite different from the Rowland Sinclair series, but highly entertaining in its own unique way ;-)
Got an email this morning inviting me to read The Finders by Jeffrey B. Burton. Cutesy dog on the cover - slightly interested. Looking in more detail... it's a CADAVER DOG!! I'm in! Available for request, too (30 June publication).
I know that a few people here love reading Bette Lee Crosby and there is a new one on Netgalley as a read now A Million Little Lies
Marianne wrote: "I see Killing Mind (Kim Stone #12) by Angela Marsons is on for request,,,"Just saw that too yay!!!
Accidently saw it this morning, while I was downloading another book. With the pub date just over a month away I was beginning to worry that Bookouture weren't going to list it!
There seem to be a good selection of books available on Read Now at the moment. I picked up:The Bass Rock by Evie Wyld and
Until I Find You by Rea Frey, a domestic drama that sounds good.
Also an ePub (you need Adobe Digital Editions to read this on a tablet or computer) of Pussweek: A Cat's Guide to Feline Empowerment, based on the magazine series Pussweek, written "by cats, for cats," - a feline parody of fashion and celebrity gossip rags. Looks like fun for cat lovers.
I also spotted:
Amethyst Pledge by our own Leonie Rogers, YA scifi
Beyond Fear, a thriller by Aussie writer Jaye Ford (first pub 2011)
Lapse by Aussie writer Sarah Thornton, rural thriller, is still available
Little Disasters by Sarah Vaughan (author of Anatomy of a Scandal)
Brave Girl, Quiet Girl: A Novel by Catherine Ryan Hyde is also still available. I've just finished it and loved it.
Educated by Tara Westover - highly recommended
The Night Swim by Megan Goldin (I was declined for this so can't get it now - so annoying!)
Call of the Raven by Wilbur Smith
There is also When She Was Good by Michael Robotham and Tiny White Lies by Fiona Palmer available for request :)
I haven't requested When She Was Good because Hachette always decline me because I don't have a blog.

Thanks. I was looking at the 'read now' options last night and missed a couple of these.

They usually refuse me too, until last year when I had one approved. So I guess it doesn't hurt to ask :)

After being contacted by a couple of publishers about extended dates, I went to check my NetGalley shelf and found that most of my titles have been pushed back. So if anyone is feeling overwhelmed with deadlines - it might pay to check!
(Also frees me up to select some more titles 😈)
Private Investigations: Mystery Writers on the Secrets, Riddles, and Wonders in Their Lives has a story by Sulari Gentill and is Read Now https://www.netgalley.com/catalog/boo...

I was caught a couple of days ago with this Andrea and received an email about The Women's Pages going out to September. I should recheck my shelf too! Thanks :)

Having already requested too many this month, I'm trying to avoid asking for any more but this does sound good......
