Marianne wrote: "Very pleased to be approved for Michael Robotham's next Cyrus Haven, Lying Beside You. NetGalley UK"Me too! Very excited.
Just a heads-up for those who, like me, have been approved for A Taste for Killing by Sarah Hawkswood on NetGalley UK - the publication date has been brought forward from 5 December to 12 May! Arrrgghhh... I wonder whether someone erred and put the original date in US notation?
I hate the way they change the dates Sarah - and especially if I miss it and don't read it in time for their changed date!!
Marianne wrote: "Fatal Witness, #7 in Robert Bryndza's Erika Foster series is up for request."Thanks Marianne! I love this series...
Phrynne wrote: "Thanks Marianne! That's a long time between books. #6 was ages ago!"I think he's been concentrating on his Kate Marshall series since 2019. It's great to see that Erika Foster lives on!
Sarah wrote: "Just a heads-up for those who, like me, have been approved for A Taste for Killing by Sarah Hawkswood on NetGalley UK - the publication date has been brought forwar..."I've been caught out a few times too, I wish the publishers would let you know when the publication date changes.

Yes I noticed that too.
Yes I noticed that too.
I was also approved for Fatal Witness! Yay!!Also for the audiobook of Fifty-Four Pigs: A Dr. Bannerman Vet Mystery which Marianne gave 5★. It's still available for request if anyone else is interested.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, Carolyn
I really enjoyed Joanna Cannon's latest novel, A Tidy Ending, so I was pleased to see the audio up for request on NetGalley. Been approved and downloaded already, in for a treat, I am sure!

Carolyn, make sure you download it to your device before it is archived.

Already downloaded and ready to go! Thanks Marianne!
I was just about to read a NetGalley book and found it's not on my tablet in kindle or the NG app, so have emailed the publisher, it was already archived (a mere 2 days ago!) so I can't access it. I must have failed to "send to Kindle" when I first got it.Now I'm going to check my other NG TBR books to make sure I have them all on Kindle or NG app.

Although the ones in the NG app can expire too.
Happened to me once too and now I download them as soon as I hear that I have been granted my request.
Phrynne wrote: "Happened to me once too and now I download them as soon as I hear that I have been granted my request."I always do that, which is why I was surprised when the book wasn't there. I checked all my TBR NetGalley books and one other I couldn't find so I had it sent again.
For anyone who hasn't caught up to the 4th book of Emma Viskic's Caleb Zelic series, Those Who Perish is READ NOW

The publisher sent me a PDF today so I can start reading.
I received the following in an email from Amazon Kindle and I wonder how it will affect the files we get from NetGalley...Dear Kindle Customer,
Thank you for using the Send to Kindle service to send personal documents to your Kindle library. We wanted to let you know that starting August 2022, you’ll no longer be able to send MOBI (.mobi, .azw) files to your library. Any MOBI files already in your Kindle library will not be affected by this change.
MOBI is an older file format and won’t support the newest Kindle features for documents. Any existing MOBI files you want to read with our most up-to-date features for documents will need to be re-sent in a compatible file format.
Also, compatible formats now include EPUB (.epub), which you can send to your library using your Send to Kindle email address. We’ll also be adding EPUB support to the free Kindle app for iOS and Android devices and the Send to Kindle desktop app for PC and Mac.
Brenda wrote: "I also received that Marianne and I don't have a clue what it means! lol Way over my head!"Well some of the NG books are in PDF format, some in Mobi, so if they can't send .mobi to our Kindles, or the Kindle app on our devices, I'm wondering what will happen there.
I got one as well and the way I read it our kindles will only take EPUB from August, very confusing I am hoping PDF's will still be OK
eeek, I have a very old kindle, I wonder if it will take epub as I didn't think kindle takes epub at all. I assume a software upgrade will be required so *fingers crossed*

Surely NetGalley will be involved if it's going to affect their readers and the reviews of their books?!

I am hoping Netgalley will get it sorted with Amazon I often send Mobi and PDF files to my kindle through email and I have authors send them as well as I say if it isn't broken leave it as is
Brenda wrote: "Yes I agree Helen. Perhaps this is similar to the hoo-har a few years ago with Amazon..."I do hope not that was awful why they need to change things I don't know
Murder at the Country Club by Helena Dixon - 9th in the Miss Kitty Underhay series - is up for request on NG (Phrynne!)
