Helen wrote: "I have sent an email, lets see what happens fingers crossed :)"Thanks Helen, and yes Brenda it does discriminate against people who read using a kindle. I just spent money on a new Paperwhite and I can't afford to buy a tablet and I don't like reading on one.
Brenda wrote: "I love my paperwhite Karren :) And my other reading is 'real' books."Brenda I love mine and I have a few real books.
It's not available yet, but Bookouture has assured everyone it WILL be on NetGalley - Six Graves by Angela Marsons
The first person to see it there, please post in here :) A virtual box of chocolates to go with the book ;)

I’ve actually preordered it on kindle at the special price of A$6.99…in case I missed it! 😂…It means I get to review it in more places also 😉
I don't know if it's because of your email Helen, but Harlequin have added the option of Send to Kindle (PDF) for Dancing with the Enemy by Diane Armstrong which is still reading on the kindle. Yay! I've just downloaded it :) Thanks Helen!!
I have just checked my emails and yes Eloise from Harlequin reply backThanks Helen,
Thanks for noticing, I have made sure the file is available for kindle now =)

Brenda wrote: "You're not wrong! Perhaps they'll take note of your email to Eloise as they're all linked. 🤞🤞"Lets keep our fingers crossed, I did mention in my email that it was something that Harper Collins did as well :)

I have the publication date, May 12 in my calendar to remind me to start checking for it a few weeks before that! Sometime in April I reckon :)

i haven't come across this author before but this book sounds great - i just checked if my local library has this series - they above the first couple then books 12-14 - is it going to matter if i cant read the ones in the middle??
That's a series that would be best read in order Bec, as the growth of the characters are important. Kim Stone is a unique character and seeing how she and her team grow and strengthen is good. I'd suggest you try the first couple from your library then see how you feel. Good luck :)

I just did this with the new Dervla McTiernan book Brenda and told them I wouldn’t be reading any books on another app and explained why. I also told them that it wouldn’t affect me as I can always get the books elsewhere, but it will likely negatively impact the authors who rely on these reviews.
I doesn’t make sense why they would do this…unless Netgalley is planning on building their own version of a Kindle 🤦🏻♀️😣🤕
Did they reply Jools? I got that book from the NetGalley UK site which was great. It definitely negatively impacts the authors, for sure!
Brenda wrote: "Did they reply Jools? I got that book from the NetGalley UK site which was great. It definitely negatively impacts the authors, for sure!"I only sent it this morning Brenda so nothing so far.
I asked for it from the UK site and received it immediately for my Kindle. I had forgotten though that I had already asked for it here and then I received it as a PDF. And now I have received an email asking if I would like to read it. It never rains but it pours:)
I've just read of a clever little hack suggested on a book reviewing forum, and wondered if it might work for NetGalley titles released as PDFs rather than MOBI. I use the Kindle App for iPad, so I don't think the difference is as noticeable, but might be worth a try for those using actual Kindle devices. What you do is email the PDF to your Kindle address, with the word "CONVERT" in the subject line. This apparently prompts the conversion of the file from PDF to MOBI format.
I've tried it out on a couple of NetGalley titles that were released as PDFs and they now seem to be working via my Kindle App, with full highlighting capacity etc., which hadn't been the case in the NetGalley App. That said, the formatting of the book with frequent diagrams etc. has been mucked up a bit! It remains to be seen if the files disappear at the archive date or not...

I don’t want to have to work that hard to supply them with a review.

I opened The Tricky Art of Forgiveness in the NetGalley app (it's from Harper Collins AU) and, after I got past the cover and first few pages to find I was at 12%. Confused, I went to the page on NetGalley https://www.netgalley.com/catalog/boo...where I could see no sign at all that it was just a preview copy, except for when I read the three reviews. Just 36 pages. Please tell me if I missed something on the book page?
I think the publisher is asking for low ratings, doing something like this!
That is very strange Marianne. Like you I can't see anything to indicate you are not going to get the whole book.
Phrynne wrote: "That is very strange Marianne. Like you I can't see anything to indicate you are not going to get the whole book."I have contacted NetGalley help about it and they will get onto the publisher to find out if it's meant to be a preview, or there's an error in the download file.
I must say that their Help people are very efficient. I was recently approved for the audio of The Maid and it was then archived, all while I was asleep. And they got the publisher to put the book back on my file to download, which I did, pronto!

I've been using the Pocket Reader app for these PDFs, and there was no indication it's only part of the book. I see now it is because I scrolled to the 'end' that finishes at pg41.
I did just take a look at the book on the NG Shelf app, and the cover does state 'Uncorrected Reading Extract'.
I was also under the impression we were getting the entire book, and not just an extract.

Yes it’s a beautiful cover, Brenda. Good luck, Helen. Sadly my requests were declined, but that’s okay I will get them from my library 😊
