Agreed. There's a huge "will they, won't they" vibe in this series and I don't want to find anything out in advance!

Phrynne wrote: "I'm not asking for it. There's no way I want to jump ahead in this series. I am enjoying the character development way too much:)"That is absolutely the right thing to do with this series! You get so much more from it. Luckily I started this series when it was first published and it’s the only series I’ve kept following...and have also been approved for the next book 🤗
For those interested in the Miss Underhay Mystery series, #5 is available on NG. Murder in the Belltower by Helena Dixon
Brenda wrote: "For those interested in the Miss Underhay Mystery series, #5 is available on NG. Murder in the Belltower by Helena Dixon"I need to get on with this series so I can catch up with NG!
When you get a moment Brenda could you have a look at the Helena Dixon’s homepage https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...I think some of her titles have got mixed up with another Helena Dixon who writes erotica (unless she has an alter ego and writes that too!)

I keep fixing this Carolyn - it's when Amazon and others of their ilk add the books. They all go into the same place! Thanks for letting me know it's mucked up again :)

The authors are probably not even aware Patty. For "our" Helena there are two spaces between first and surname. The other has one :)

That's okay - it's happening all over the site. Goodness knows how many authors have the problem. I just fix them as I see them, as I would imagine, do other librarians :)
Brenda wrote: "That's okay - it's happening all over the site. Goodness knows how many authors have the problem. I just fix them as I see them, as I would imagine, do other librarians :)"I've just posted a request on the Librarian's Book Issues page to see if someone can post a little alert on their profiles that there are two authors with the same name, so be sure to link the one you want!
I also asked (but you will know, I'm sure) if it's possible, without the author's permission, to add a note saying she writes mysteries, or she writes 'explicit romance'.
Brenda wrote: "I've fixed it now Carolyn - thanks."Thanks Brenda - it would help if the authors had a photo for their icon or even as Patty suggests a little blurb about themselves so you knew which one was which.
I know - some are wonderful with their information, others don't bother. I'm not sure how they think readers will be interested in their books if they don't give us some information!
Thanks Patty - not sure what good it'll do, but doesn't hurt to ask :)

Suzi and Scott fixed it, Brenda! You can give Helena Dixon a test run now. I think that's the only "add book/author" link that should be available now. It's not perfect, but it's a great result. :)
Carolyn wrote: "That's terrific Patty! Let's hope that works to keep the two separated!"I'm told by a librarian that unless that author profile gets some followers, it will disappear, since there are now no books attached to it. I just followed, so if others do, it should help keep the clarification 'alive'.
The only Helena Dixon I want is the one I offered above. The link that comes up for her now is the joint link, so the only way to get her is to put two spaces between first and last name. Admittedly the first link shows the choices which will also work.
Which profile has no books Patty? Because the 'other' one had heaps of erotica books; ours has the series we're following, which is 5 books.

I see what has happened - they've created a 'new' one to give the two options. So it'll only be by mistake that books will be added!!

I've followed it.
I've now written (I hope) to her publisher and to her to ask that they add an author profile and also link her to Nell Dixon if they want to. I think that might allow the librarians a little more leeway to sort it out. It's good to know about searching using two spaces between her first and last names, Brenda.
Thanks for all your work Patty - yes, you'd be amazed at how many authors you can search for with one, two, three - even up to six or seven spaces. They are the ones that really confuse me!!
PattyMacDotComma wrote: "And now, it's fixed and legal. Helena Dixon. No more two spaces needed, as far as I know!"That's even better Patty. She should be chuffed to see that page! Such an improvement and no confusion about whether she also writes "explicit romance"!
B. Michael Radburn’s new book The Reach is currently ‘read now’ on Netgalley. I’ve been hoping this one would pop up on Netgalley.

Oooohh... sounds really good! Thanks for the heads-up.

Sarah wrote: "Brenda wrote: "That's book 3 in the series Sarah..."Is this a series which I really should read in order? If so, I'll pick up the others on Kindle."
I think it would help as the main character does have some back history and ongoing events that are likely to be relevant. The Crossing and The Falls are the first two. I enjoyed them both :)

I would recommend it, as Carolyn says Sarah :)
