Has anyone ever had any luck with a title that they wished for? I haven’t, but I’ve just wished for The Keepers, #2 in the Mace Reid series by Jeffrey B. Burton. 🤞🤞🤞

I’ve been lucky with a couple of wishes...trouble is that you actually forget that you have wished for them!

I suspect the publishers use them when a book hasn't generated the level of activity they'd wanted.
Marianne wrote: "Seven Perfect Things by Catherine Ryan Hyde 4/5/2021 is Read Now"Thanks Marianne. I couldn’t resist with a gorgeous cover like that :)
Brenda wrote: "Thanks Marianne - I can't believe this author, she seems to write so quickly."And every one I've read so far has been a 5 star read!

Marianne, I just saw your post and that's what happened to me. I waited til my library got it and reviewed it then.

Sharah, that's what I was going to do, but I emailed Hachette and they sent me a copy! Can't complain about that!!

Got it thanks Tien:) Love this series!
Got it thanks Tien:) Love this series!
Can anyone tell me please what the difference is between the download - Kindle (PDF) and Kindle (Mobi)? I go for Mobi all the time, but have noticed some say (Kindle PDF) and have been avoiding them. Are they the same (ie readable)? Thanks!
Stick to mobi, Brenda, as it's more ereader friendly.I believe PDF (I've done this for kobo but not kindle but I think identical rules with this file), you can only view as it is. I mean it's a static document, you won't be able to change fonts etc. It'd be way too small to view on an ereader and you'd have to fiddle with zooming etc, it's a pain.
There is a new thriller called Shelter by AA Catherine Jinks on Read Now. I really like this author, but I think this book might be too much for me 😬
I just came here to add that Andrea :) I loved her previous book which was historical fiction so I've grabbed this one.
Brenda wrote: "I just came here to add that Andrea :) I loved her previous book which was historical fiction so I've grabbed this one."I did too, but this one sounds like it might give me nightmares!
Brenda wrote: "For fans of B.A. Paris, The Therapist is currently available for request."Thanks Brenda, one of my favourite authors. Hopefully I’ll be lucky!

I've just had this review rejected by Amazon.com.au for being in breach of their Community Guidelines. This has never happened to me before, and I'm wondering if any of you can venture an opinion as to what I've done wrong. (NB. I removed the pictures that appear in my GR review before posting the text to Amazon.)The only thing I can think of is that my acknowledgement of the author, publisher and NetGalley at the end of the review is in contravention of that part of the Community Guidelines relating to Promotions and Commercial Solicitations, which states in part: Creating, modifying, or posting content in exchange for compensation of any kind (including free or discounted products) or on behalf of anyone else. (...is not allowed)
If that's the case, how do we as NetGalley reviewers reconcile NetGalley's expectation of Amazon-posted reviews with these rules?
[Also posted to chat thread].

And I try always to review the Kindle version, if possible, since NetGalley sends it to our Kindles directly (if you're using a Kindle.)
When my review is posted to Amazon, I copy the link and add it to my NetGalley feedback.
Try that first. Delete the thanks section and post it again on Amazon.
I've had a lot of kids' picture book reviews rejected, presumably because of the illustrations I included (which Amazon actually asks for!), but you say you removed them.
Your 'links' to names and titles presumably didn't translate as links to Amazon, did they? They don't when I copy reviews to NetGalley, so it's probably not that.
It's just possible that even "f-bomb" may have made their naughty list, but we'll never know unless someone else has used it.
If your experimental editing doesn't work, you can write to them here and ask for a review of your review. You can include a link to your Goodreads review as well, since Amazon owns Goodreads.

GOOD LUCK!
(I also replied in the Chat thread.)
How many books do you buy from them? They look at how many books you've bought compared to how many you're reviewing. it makes sense, I guess, they want to stop sock puppet accounts of the authors leaving good reviews to falsely bolster the average rating.

Mostly Kindle books on sale, admittedly, but my aunt usually gives me a voucher to spend each birthday as well (not sure if that counts to her total or mine!).
It seems odd, as their guidelines suggest that anyone who's read a NetGalley or other ARC is excluded from reviewing that book on Amazon, yet NetGalley expressly requests their reviewers to post their reviews to Amazon.

All the Tears in China by Sulari Gentill, #9 in Rowland's series, is on NG with the new title (for overseas I think) and for request for anyone who hasn't read this one. Called Shanghai Secrets
Brenda wrote: "All the Tears in China by Sulari Gentill, #9 in Rowland's series, is on NG with the new title (for overseas I think) and for request for anyone who hasn't read this..."That is one of my favourite series, Brenda. I can't recommend it highly enough, especially for Aussie readers!

As ridiculous as it sounds, I've heard of people's reviews being taken down because this was seen as you having a 'relationship' with the author and implied influence by the author.
I just noticed a new Mick Herron up for request, actually called Slough House this time. YAY!

Ditto, Carolyn, fingers crossed but not too hopeful, if I got this one it would be a first!

I got it last week and dropped everything else to read it. It was as good and twisty as ever but now what do I do? I need to learn to pace myself. :-)

Just send some positive vibes to NetGalley for the rest of us, Em__Jay! We live in hope!
